The meltdown over the banana song is so stupid but so hilarious. What a hill to die on. The denim arc is basically his whole career in a nutshell. Making a mountain out of the mundane and making things worse for himself in the process.

I don't think it's a conscious thought, so he doesn't have to disguise it, per say. He has so many layers of cope and mental gymnastics I don't think he realizes most of what's happening to him. To be fair most of us are guided by unconscious thought (which is why good habits are so important bros) but he is on another level entirely. However, for as dumb and narcissistic and sheltered he is, reality does seep in sometimes. The narcissistic collapse is that reality seeping in, to my understanding.

I think he is fearful watching his income fall steadily, as it has for years, but now to a point where it's impacting his enjoyment of his vices. I also think Kino/Asmon absolutely wrecked him mentally, as for the longest time he said that if someone just gave him a platform to stand above the detractor narratives then he would be a smash hit. I think the reality that it's him is slowly seeping in, or just becoming impossible to drown out. But it will manifest as these crashouts and more drinking, I don't think he has to hide it intentionally because the narcissism does that by default.

Yeah; I think if something or someone genuinely hurt Phil’s ego he’d put as much time and distance between him and that thing/person as possible.

Cf., literally every single aspect of his life in Connecticut. Can’t fucking believe I didn’t think of that before. He got out of there so fast he literally didn’t sell his property lmao

Given how much of an idiot Phil is, I am surprised that we haven't seen the inside of his home via a bodycam from the police when they respond to him accidentally lighting his kitchen on fire or some other highly moronic thing occurs like a swatting

Yeah, it's getting increasingly difficult to just make short clips of his content because his rants and mentally ill episodes are getting longer and longer. Nowadays his whole pre-stream is over 2 hours of literally non-stop verbal diarrhea, it's insane.

The denim banana debate is the DSP equivalent of that old Simpsons debate about Ralph Wiggum's "Oh boy, sleep! That's where I'm a Viking!". Most people will agree that it obviously means Ralph dreams of being a viking, but then one person will argue that he means he's good at sleeping and then a shitstorm debate ensues. It got to the point that even the showrunners explained it as being the first but then a writer thought it meant the second.

It's such a pointless, stupid debate, especially because it ultimately means nothing to no one. Even the dent who made the captions for the unlisted video thought it was denim. At the end of the day it shows what a fun-hating, bitter, faggot piece of shit Phil is. He could have made it a running joke, he could have made a dynamic of Team Denim vs. Denim Deniers, he could have made merch, he could have some for once in his life, turn this not even detractor meme into something actually positive, but no, he just has to go on endless rants only for his final victory to be "I didn't say denim". Completely missing the point and looking like an even bigger sperg in the process instead of just rolling with the punches.

It's really something how seriously Phil takes himself, when absolutely everything about him is a joke. He's known for being the first fucking retard to beat off live on stream, for being so incredibly retarded at gaming people legit believed it was a performance piece, for doing an unboxing of a game he never unboxed while a fucking alarm was going off the whole time, for e-begging, for wasting six figures on a WWE gacha game, for his faggy Fran Fine voice... and he thinks he's above taking a joke at his expense.
 
I have never really looked into DSP until last week when one of his videos popped up. I knew he had a big following but not quite this big, but I get it now. Im a big fan of Fromsoft titles, and I got to watch him play Elden Ring and for some reason Pokémon. I am floored by this man. I thought surely this is all a giant ruse and hes doing this on purpose. That all said, I didnt understand the hate. I think this guy is hysterical. That is, until I had my gf sit and watch him play one of her favorite Zelda games. She came very close to punching the TV multiple times. She made it almost to ten minutes. I suppose its a difference in personality in how you respond to DSP?

Anyway, im going to be watching him more now. Its nice to know that no matter how bad I am at a video game or how retarded I can be, theres always DSP. He fucking lost to Nemona.

Plus besides people believing he is autistic or has some disorder, if someone is an alcoholic then generally speaking even if they reduce the amount of alcohol they drink it still fucks with their head/emotions mentally enough that it still cause problems.

You can see the "real Phil" unless he goes stone cold Steve Austin sober for a few months. That's when anxiety and depression start to peak out.

As it stands now be has stressors during his day to day life (which everyone has)) and in the evening he gets drunk which "solves" everything. Then he goes to bed and sleep poorly, drinks a bunch of coffee and shit to wake up and get rid of the hangover (even 1 drink fucks your sleep cycle) and turns out that problem never got solved.

It's the penultimate cycle where alcohol is the perfect drug for a person's anxiety and depression but really isn't.

And it's clear Phil has been getting drunk daily for years and years on end. Maybe he doesn't drink 2 or 3 days a week or has soms stupid rule about it that is retarded. Maybe he drinks a bit less than when pandalee left. But the reality is he's clearly a regular drinker and it's the perfect drug for him and his anxiety and neurotic state - like alcohol does actually work perfectly (just like it works as an anesthesic if you have nothing else, or if you're a sailor at sea with no fresh water it acts as a food/hydration source)... But it's only temporary and all those tricky emotions come out to play the next day when you wake up again.
