I can see it happening when (not if) he wage quits Dragon Quest 7. He played the other two Nioh games despite his insistence on not playing "Souls clones" and it is the biggest release in the near future. I mean what else does he have on the horizon? Virtual Boy?The goals that are missed. That is what convinces him he needs to go back to things he hates. SF6, now Black Ops and soon Souls-likes. Mark my words, he will play Nioh 3 when Black Ops fails.
I truly despise the dismissive way people in general and Phil in particular call any 3d action RPG with corpse runs a Souls-Like. Nioh plays very differently than Dark Souls, it's way faster, has a random leveled drops aspect like a Diablo game, and has a lot more combat mechanics like the enemies having stamina, demon powers, burst counters, I could go on. Phil's autistic insistence on categorizing everything into strict genre boxes is really annoying to me.
