Makes you wonder does he even like Street Fighter at all.
No he doesn't.
He doesn't even love Fighting Games, or games in general for that matter.
The only reason he keeps playing SF2 is because he gets to stomp noobs and is able to feel superior in that one game.
It is the single one game where his accumelated knowledge of the game and his muscle memory can carry him to wins against a small player base.
This doesn't mean that he loves SF2 though. If he really would love to play the game and "challenge" himself (like he always proclaims that he does), he would play on Fightcade or even try to rank up on PS5.
He doesn't do that because he knows that he has reached his skill ceiling a decade ago.
When KOF 15 got released, he had a slim glimmer of hope that it would just be like with SF2.
A classic style fighting game which rewards legacy knowledge and hasn't changed too much in the last 25 years, all while being a niche title with a small playerbase where he could just go into low level lobbies and stomp noobs all day with the legacy skills he has.
Only that he overestimated his KOF skills way too much.
I can already see him bitching during the next KOF 15 session and saying how he can't wait to play the new Capcom Fighting game collection in June (aka SF2 again) with good netcode and that he will finally be able to "dominate" in that game because he placed first in some tournaments playing that game.
In reality it will be just the same shit like with the Anniversary Collection.
The hardcore players play on Fightcade.
The only ones who will get this collection on PS5 are gonna be at casual level at best.
