I loathe when he does this. He's "debating" how to bring the goal back and what amount makes sense. He clearly wants $200 he's just seeing if his audience will tolerate that much greed. "Man I dunno... What do you guys think?" Dude you know what you want just do it. Fucking faggot.

eta: he settled on $20 "cumulative support milestone" this dude is delusional

Even dents and warpimp the whale in chat is saying this is not going to work. He is going to lose his actual dented fans, he's pushing away even the whales with his insane greed and there's no way he's going to get $250 to open specialty packs. His really thinks he is reinvesting in the business and profiting and that he's going to land the card that will set him up for life. He has made no profit all this time.
Phil has lost it and thinks this is success. Now if he doesn't hit the goals/milestones he's going to crashout even more. He has actually set himself up for the ultimate fall.

This business meeting is unhinged even by his standards.

Some people are jealous of his success and others are afraid of change, so that's why there was resistance to the Pokemon cards.

Then he proceeds to give an example of how he always tries new stuff, and that's why he collaborated with the Kino Casino and everything turned out great, he dabbles in drama from time to time, but his main focus is on meaningful and positive content. He said that he's still here because people trust him and they should trust him for the Pokemon cards. It honestly makes zero sense.

Could someone explain the appeal of these to me? I really don't get it. At least with lottery tickets you kind of buy the idea of what you'll do when you are rich until the numbers come.
It's multifaceted!

1) It's something his dents will apparently pay for the privilege to watch. Not to potentially receive the cards in a giveaway or anything like that, but just watch.

2) DSP is able to justify it as an investment in his mind. A highly unstable, dynamic, and volatile investment, but an investment nonetheless.

3) It scratches his gamba itch in an intrinsic way while being he's able to characterize it as said investment, in his mind. (i.e., It's no longer gamba to him.)

4) It scratches his inherent hoarding itch. The man loves to stockpile random doohickeys, of any and all variety.

5) Opening sealed pack unleashes a brief torrent of dopamine as he rips through them, discovering the power that's insiiiideeee. Pokemon! Gotta catch'em all!

6) Similarly, it gives him a rush when he rips an objectively rare card. Ofc, he doesn't know what's rare nor how to pronounce any of the names, but that's irrelevant. It's just another niknak that's now in his possession that others deem valuable.

It wouldn't be so bad (relatively speaking) if he was part of the fandom or passionate whatsoever, but the fact he's not while doing this is something else. For all intents and purposes, it appears that he got the itch to rip open unsealed packs now. With the opening boxes off stream, constantly talking about it, checking prices of cards repeatedly throughout the day, etc.

It's all just rather amusing because you wonder 'How does someone get addicted to shit when they obviously don't enjoy the medium, nor the franchise it's from, as a whole?' Then you see him and go, 'Oh. That's how, and that's exactly the type of person who you'd expect it to happen to.'

As has been pointed out more than once on this very board I'm sure, it is absolutely no coincidence that the woman Phil married is an obviously deeply autistic and deeply troubled one with no family or friends to serve as a support system
Phil may not be a predator in the sense that many creeps documented on this website are, but his behavior toward Kat is no less a kind of predation. And I do not think Phil has it in him to strike a woman, but I also have no doubt he is no less a kind of abuser, of the emotional and mental kind.
I disagree for two reasons

1) Phil was never a catch, which leaves only very naive (Leanna) or equally unappealing (Kat) women willing to put up with him for extended periods.

ETA: Even in the early 2010s, when he was making $$$, he did not understand how to handle a trophy girlfriend (read: never stop flexing and always let her have spending money, not just a hobbyist soap shop). That would have limited his prospects, even without the declining income or move to a pricey metro.

2) Dysfunction in the relationship with Kat was never a one-way street, by all appearances she has no feelings for him and gets free room + board for putting up with him a few hours / week. Being rude and inconsiderate to a roommate is not on the same level as what you are describing, especially when she is not pulling her weight on finances/housework. If she is as checked out as she seems he'd need to cross another line (shouting at her, keeping her from sleeping, etc.) to qualify as abusive.

Hyper rare packs. Donation goals. Chest hair. Pigarus is once again flying too close to the sun.

It never ceases to amaze me that he and his fans don’t have any cognitive dissonance as Phil spends every stream both shitting on every game while also claiming he likes them.

lol somebody is trying to fuck up his youtube chat, its frozen
I wonder how they did it. I assume some sort of API spam, but I'de love to know to permanently takedown his chat.

And he blames it all on NERD BOOKSMART BULLSHIT CODER IDIOTS. "we suffer" and "we're the customers but they treat us like guinea pigs" talk. insane

I'm tired of hearing "payyaackk" bros.. I don't know how many more times I can watch the entire stream front to back.. I may have to start skipping parts ..
Good luck with that. Skipping to any part of his stream and being greeted with him holding a box of cards in his limp wristed hands has gotta be a 50/50 chance at this point.

The same guy took down Raw Phil's chat, but it was back up within a few minutes

What the fuck is a specialty pack?!
Okay everybody who isn't gay just give me an autism sticker now.
Pokemon typically releases a new set of cards every 2 months.
But every 6 months or so they release a special subset, in Japan they're called "High Class" sets. You can't buy individual packs or booster boxes for them, the only come in special boxes.
These sets are usually 3-4x the size of a normal set and have tons of special art cards.
More importantly to Phil, these sets can have what people call "God Pack"s, where all 10 cards are the extremely rare special arts. This is why Phil is buying them, he wants to gamble and get a pack that is "worth" upwards of three thousand dollars. He likely bought Ascended Heroes and Prismatic Evolutions.
