Pokemon is dying, the whales aren't interested anymore, I am very curious what people think his next pivot will be. Now I think that there's a chance he may just return to his beloved mobile games as they're easier and give more hits, however... I think that he really likes cards because he can show off his toys. Mobile games are something he's ashamed of, but cards? That's an investment d00d, an investment YOU are paying $50 a pack to see him open. I think that the card addiction has more legs than the dents will have for Porkiemon cards which begs the question... What cards is he gonna go for next to build up that hype again?

Personally I'm of the mind that he goes MTG as it's probably the most well-known. But apparently the One Piece cards are pretty valuable too, and that's what he cares about at the end of the day. He wants that piece of cardboard that SHOWS you how affluent he is. He wants to show off his toys. It's much better than just... you know, actually having money, like a savings account or retirement account. Sorry Khet, no Japan this year, but let me show you my Porkiemahn binder again, okay these are the energy cards that I definitely didn't throw away...

Glad that he keeps reminding us that his life is great behind the scenes it must really be true!

Kind of at an impasse with the Pokemon cards he is spending thousands at this point to not really have an increase in what is coming in from the whales. He may have a stream where he gets multiple packs but then support is down for the next few streams the whales really just don't give a fuck at this point.

He is playing either Killer Bean or Mina tonight? Killer Bean is total dogshit slop and Mina is going to make him seethe so I hope he plays Mina.

No one should contact DSP and tell him about MTG and how the cards are more valuable, how bulk cards are worth more than a lot of his Pokemon hits, and definitely under no circumstances tell him that MTG has a Marvel release coming up.

The chairquake tic is by far my favourite, he looks like a complete psycho scanning chat while it prepares to take off into the stratosphere

"I TOLD YOU. TO PULL. THE WOLVERINE BARBIE CARD. Why don't you listen to ME!?!"

Says Phillip, alone in his office, sloshed off all the gin he's chewed that night, the sound of a triangle and a pair of retarded Canadians screaming "woooooahhh buddyyyyy" emanating softly from his phone speaker. He watches on mobile instead of his computer speakers so that the noise may not wake up his mom wife. However, while the streamers may not wake up his mom wife, his shouted replies certainly will, as he pretends that he's there with them again, basking in the adoration of thousands, with enough money to make top 10 in his favorite mobile games' events, and the thing he longs for more than anything else in the world: a friend. He wipes the tears off on his white gloves and awkwardly cuts open another pack, hoping that the chase for the hypermasculine figure he so idolizes will distract him from the fact that he, as a man, could not be any further away from the heroes he worships.

And definitely don't mention black lotus cards and how much they're worth.

I'm catching up right now on this pokemon card arc, and oh man this is the best thing to happen to Phil. What started as a way to make money off his fans, has now become a addiction for him lmao. :story:

This is our 2026 WWE phone game money pit era!

You have to be a genius business man to start a grift to get retards to give you money, to then start spending all of that money on pokemon cards which you open off stream.

This is next level, this is as good as it possibly gets for us.

And he's displaying them as if pulling these things is an achievement

:stress: :stress: :stress:

It is so funny to see that literally the only thing Phil cares about with these Pokémon cards is their monetary value. That’s it, that’s the only element he’s passionate about. “Why did they make two cards when one is worth $5 and one is worth $50?” What an absolutely shallow piece of shit. I would be MATI if I was somebody who gave a shit about these cards.

This is basically a different version of "I used to be an alcoholic, but now I only drink every once in a while."

Total degenerate gambling addict.

2 days off, opening pokemon cards as a reward, and still making less than he did even a month ago. This is on top of spending $1k+. Even if he got the "hits" he still wouldn't even be making his money back....even he was planning on selling them. This us just tossing money in the trash.

He should be embarassed of his little card display behind him. Some of my nephews and their 12 year old friends have card collections worth WAY more than this fraud's ever will be.

Only DSP could be a bad enough businessman that charging $50 per Pokemon card pack that costs him like $6-8 each becomes a net negative, because of his immediate addiction to it off stream where he is getting $0 per pack

You'd think nobody could be this much of a retard, but never underestimate lolcow's

Things about the current arc that I find hilarious:

1. Phil adding the display of his most valuable cards to the table behind him. His "I have cool, expensive stuff. Please envy me." crap is rarely so incredibly blatant.
2. Him being so happy about having the most valuable card in a set, but also saying "Now I have no reason to open more of that set". Bonus for him calling cards "crazy rare and valuable" when you can get said card for like 50 bucks after he spent so much on boxes already.
3. Phil talking shit about other collectors only being interested in getting cards worth a lot of money right after talking about how he is tracking the value of the cards he already has to see if they go up. His lack of self-awareness is well-known but it's always really funny to see him not realize how obvious he made it then go back and retcon things he said 5 minutes ago.
4. Him threatening to stop doing the pack openings if people don't give him enough money. Earlier in the stream his eyes lit up as he talked about what a thrill he gets from opening them and seeing if he got anything valuable. If there was any doubt that the addiction has hooks in him already, they're gone.
5. I can't tell if he believes his own bullshit, but he said he is only opening Pokemon cards because it "ties in with his streams" of Pokemon and TCG Sim as if he isn't playing those games so he can pitch the card packs. He also claimed, in response to someone asking, that he doesn't think he would enjoy opening them "just for myself" as if he hasn't admitted to opening a shitload of them off-stream.

This shit is a gold mine.

I don't think I've ever seen a better example of the idiom "money burning a hole in your pocket" than Phil. Any extra money that comes his way must be spent as soon as possible.

4 packs opened and no value was made from it.

This is a great arc because there's no way he's ever going to get ACTUAL rare cards of value, and certainty not enough to make back what he spends. He started to late collecting them.

You’re just jealous because Phil finally found a way to truly invest in an asset by collecting these RARE and VAHLUBOWL trading cards. I’m man enough to say it myself: Phil if you’re reading this, you have felted all of us. Please don’t keep spending all your money on Pokemon cards, I can’t take being owned and violated like this for much longer. But congratulations on securing your family’s future, King!
