I have the exact opposite opinion. Watching Phil get bodied by Touhou and raging out hard would be fucking hilarious. There is no way he doesn't get absolutely destroyed by an autistic Japanese bullet hell game, it's like the worst possible genre for him. It had to be a LARPer who suggested this.

They're adding an infinite lives mode to the remake, so chances are that if he did ever play it, he'd just play on Game's Journo Mode and breeze through to the end while Clown Mode-ing the entire time.

I don’t think I have ever seen Phil play a shmup. Starting with Touhou would be a fucking disaster (so don’t worry, it’ll never happen).

I still think the possibility of him playing it is extremely low, since it's outside of his genre comfort zone, the series is somewhat niche outside of Japan, and features a cast almost entirely of [gasp] WOMEN.

That said, there are a few fighting games in the series, and we all know how well he does with fighting games. However, that would bring into question Phil's ability to find the games, install them, and language patch them to English, and Phil doing anything tech-related would be like trying to draw blood from a stone.

Context: Touhou Koumakyou ~ Embodiment of Scarlet Devil just had a remake announced a few days ago, and one of Phil's viewers suggested that he play said remake. Yeah, he has mentioned these FGC friends and friends that "live in Seattle" before. Usually when people imply he doesnt have friends or doesnt know something specific.
