True, it's just a fact that he doesn't think through his lies we have so many examples. Like many things in life it's about "what do I need right now" for Phil. I like finding the lies because it's just fun to call him on it and see how crazy he is. How much of what he says does he believe? Like does he really believe that PPP didn't mention filming when he invited him to Hogan's bar? We have the proof, we know that's not true, but does Phil know that's not true? Or rather did he when he said it, I'm sure he's checked Twitter and knows it's not true now.

He really is a dramatically broken person and is psychologically damaged by his own doing and his narcissism and other shit.

I didn't believe in the concept of evil people for a long time, but I had the realization watching Amberlynn that she is never going to get help or change into a better person. At that point, when someone is THAT broken, what is the difference between them and someone that has like a demon inside or brain damage that makes them evil? Functionally the same, they will never change for the better. Not that they're "evil" like murdering people, more just pathetic, but the point is they're never gonna change. At least ALR had a rough childhood she can blame.

Yeah I am similar. I never really encountered evil people in the way Phil is. If someone is a murderer or a rapist or pedo its very clear they're evil but Phil isn't those things but is extremely evil. It is like an extreme social affront and insult to lie to people like Phil does and some other lolcows do and he does it constantly to his "fans" and his own parents. I don't know anyone like it in real life and I don't think these people would survive or be the way they are without the internet and magic youtube money.

It's probably an extreme life skill to identify people like Phil in real life as quickly as possible and to make sure you have nothing to do with them. At minimum, if they don't scam/screw you over the prolific habit of lying will just eat up a persons time on a constant basis. That he lies about tiny, insignificant things is just insulting to most people and most societies.

Can you imagine if you had Phil as an employee, colleague or friend for a few years and you came to realize how much he lies about shit? It would just be unbelievable.

I sincerely doubt he would be like this if he had to work normal jobs and he would be humbled extremely quickly. That is not to say he would improve, just that the harsh reality of the "real world" would bruise him significantly and humble his ambitions and confidence and he would start to shut up very quickly.


EDIT: And when people say they don't understand the appeal of DSP, this discussion highlights that it isn't really DSP himself that is interesting, but what he represents and the overtone and subtext and all that shit of his existence. You could make a 20 hour long documentary and not understand what he represents to people and why he lies so much about stupid shit. He is a dramatically unstable person who lies to change his identity to suit whatever his current goal is (such as sucking up to Sir Moist or Sir Asmongold). Then a day later he'll be a chameleon when he interacts with LTG or Wings. He doesn't understand any of these people as "humans" but just identities that he tries to interact with in terrible ways - he has no friends and no one to speak to and hasn't actually socialized in decades at this point. He has totally forgotten his "inner child" and how to play with others and have friendships.

The reason Phil's lies inspire so much hate is that they are extremely insulting. If he was a better liar, he'd get a lot less guff. The reason his lies are a social affront to anyone listening is that they imply he thinks you are dumb enough to actually believe his bullshit.

When a good speaker, politician, salesman, etc. lies, it is usually by omission or exaggeration. The basic truth and fabric of reality is never in question and you can respect, for example, a very good salesman using his knack for persuasion to close a deal.

Phil's lies are so childish and obviously untrue that it's insulting he thinks you, the listener, are that stupid that you would ever buy them. This is the root of why even going back to his earliest days on YouTube, his most ardent supporters have always been "dented" as detractors say. Most likely back then they were literal children, but looking back in Phil's history reveals a consistent through line of autistic or differently abled fans. Try listening to any old Hate Live episode. Almost guaranteed any random caller you choose has a disability so severe you can hear it in their voice. It's because Phil's lies and manipulations are so simplistic and childish that he essentially self selects into having a fan base only made up of those with severe mental issues or disabilities.

When Phil lies to you, which he does tens to hundreds of times a day, it's infuriating because he is acting as though you are retarded. It also feels like a direct attack because he often follows up with some talk about how his chat is where the "intelligent humans" hang out. If you don't believe him, you should be in institutionalized. If you find that he stretches the truth often, he even advises that you talk about it with your doctor so they can put you in a straight jacket. Any normal, non-dent audience member is being gaslit and told they are literally insane for not believing the bizarre, easily disprovable lies of a skinny fat man child with a fu man chu who can't even beat a kirby game.

I don't think any real job or exposure to the real world would cure Phil of this. Up to his late 20s he did live in and navigate the real world, but was fired from every job he ever had (except, ironically, at the health food sandwich shop). Not necessarily for lying, but for the other abrasive elements of his personality most likely. For example, when his Best Buy manager told him they required he pass a training course, he said it wasn't in the job description and he told them "get a lawyer". It's unsurprising they fired him the first opportunity they got.

The only reasons I don't think he is is because a) I feel like he would have given it away by now and b) he's a giant pussy and you need to use a needle for meds like that. But he certainly has the look.

I have known about Phil for a long time, heard most of the scummy/embarrassing things he has done or said, yet I never found him interesting or funny because I had not looked past that surface-level 'fuddy duddy"ness. Over the past year I have been watching Phil via Raw a couple times a week and I quickly came to understand just how unironically deranged he is. It is mentally exhausting listening to him lie and twist reality every single stream for hours straight. I have known many shitty, narcissistic, and manipulative liars in my life but I thank God I have never met anyone on Phil's level.

There's probably one or two solutions that aren't just him going on camera and saying he's a huge faggot and his unironic fans number in the dozens and are a bunch of retarded furfag eurotrash feebs and tards. One would have been a chapter 13 bankruptcy where he has to not only payback the debt but be watched like a hawk and have his finances dissected for all to see via FOIA request. Another would've been an IRS audit and to the same end a dissection to the atomic level of his finances and appropriate deductions and the third would've been doing something with Caleb Hammer but it turns out he's a creepy fucking gooner so that's off the table.
