So I have been following onlyicedcoffee in chat for a while and I don’t know if he is one of the tipping whales. If he is I am pretty sure he wouldn’t take credit for it. From how he talks in chat about tipping he comes off as one of those strange DSP fans who justifies the money they spend on him because it’s gifted subs or it’s cheers and not tips. There are times that onlyicedcoffee has actually thrown shade at the big tippers hitting the tips goals calling them the whales or implying it’s dumb to tip and he wouldn’t do that.

Of course all of that could be an act and he could be tipping on a different account. I just do thing we are going to see the onlyicedcoffee account do big tips and brag about it.

He must have people who message him or talk about him. He’s gifted way over 300 subs in like 2 months or less so no way that went unnoticed.
 
Thought popped into my head regarding that OnlyIcedCoffee person. It's unlikely, but is phrenelith still around? A lot of the shit described (admittedly, all secondhand since I don't go to Phil's stream at all anymore) is similar to how phrenelith acted, only with more money involved. The attempts at acting like a badass, apparently thinking that giving Phil money was somehow owning the trolls, and the referencing troll stuff are all in line with how that dude acted. Might also explain why Phil didn't really question the money but is relatively quickly getting pissy about the references already.

I’ve seen him around and it’s important to note that he was with the group that got banned for bragging about the DMCA thing when Eternal Napalm was spying on Wingsofredemption streams. So OIC was doing his thing being a whale while all that happened. I don’t think they are the same person. Based on who Phrenelith talks to in chat he probably isn’t a major whale anymore.

Do people here actually get mad at that? I don't think he understands this place (at least the way I understand it, though if people get mad, that's weird). We watch, we point, we go 'Oooooh, aaaah' when something spectacular happens, but we take the art exhibit approach: look but don't touch.
I actually think the term orbiter is perfect for him and his ilk; destined to either draw so close to the source that they crumble and are forgotten, or slowly drift away and become lost, never to be seen again.
The who and the how money is pumped into the living corpse isn't the important part. I think an essential part to the growth cycle of a Phil fan is realizing that.

And the sad and hilarious thing is that no matter what detractors win. What Phil and his fanbase fail to realize is that money is not a infinite resource; Eventually it will run out. Sure as the old guard falls a new one rises but as I said they also will be tapped out as well. This "cycle" will exhaust itself out we will get the typical sperg out and exit. I honestly don't know why giving money equals owning the detractors and critics. Ignorance is bliss I guess...

Here? no I don't think so.

On twitter? You bet your ass the chinese cartoon detractor army were running rampant saying it was the real onlyicedcoffee until Phil confirmed in his stream chat it wasn't him (theres a screenshot in the megathread somewhere, see my mini rant here about it in designated whiner shitting street)

Nigel was right, watching detractors act like piranhas over microscopic bits of meat dropped in the water is way more fun than watching his fans sperg out.
