DankPods / Garbage Time / The Trash Network - An Australian man and his warehouse full of MP3 players, shitboxes, exotic drums, and snake
DankPods is a comedic tech review youtuber hailing from sunny Australia, whose YouTube channels primarily focus on the cheap, shitty, exotic tech of yesteryear. The original DankPods channel was launched in 2019, initially making content about old iPods and expanding into other forms of audiovisual equipment, and often doing various violent things to devices of lesser quality. In 2021 following the success of the channel, Garbage Time was started as a second channel containing various other miscellaneous activities including working on old shitboxes with his auto mechanic friend, vlogging about his pet snake, and messing around with exotic cymbals, among other things. With the success of that channel, otherchannels dedicated to certain niches were spun off of it, and Garbage Time became the dedicated shitbox channel. This overall set of channels has since been named The Trash Network.
Any other frequent watchers here? I've been getting Garbage Time in my recommended a lot, and it never disappoints. Wasn't sure whether this thread should go in Internet & Technology or Multimedia, went with I&T since there are a few other tech youtuber threads there.
Garbage Time is easily the best of the DankPods / Trash Network channels. It feels like he's still really into it, whereas DankPods feels a bit phoned in these days.
His formula would be extremely grating and annoying if anybody else did it, but he still manages to pull it off anyway and make me laugh myself out of breath
Garbage Time! Holy shit, I watch this channel with Mr. Devereaux periodically, these guys are a riot. Our favorite videos are the ones where they swap engine oil in their shitboxes with other questionable fluids. I wish we had the time, money and courage to FAFO the way these guys do. Genuinely entertaining.
DankPods' channel sucks recently; it's so boring. You can only watch "hurr durr Aussie man screams nugget" so many times before it gets boring. His framework shill video also completely missed the point of the MacBook Neo; he was pushing a nearly two-thousand-dollar framework laptop as if it mogs the $599 MacBook Neo. Also, one thing I remember about DankPods is he had some kind of Discord drama over his headphone recommendations that led to him deleting his Discord, but I don't have much detail on that.

Also agree that Garbage Time is his best channel. The interactions between him and James are what make it. Wade pouring something dubious into Tony wouldn't hit the same without a James saying "I'm sure it'll be fine".
It's an instant classic. Can't think of any other 'tubers where watching them microwave cheese for two minutes would be this entertaining. It's also one of those episodes where they let James hit the engine with a sledgehammer which is always great.
In the end it literally looked like the car had dysentery and diarrhea'd itself to death. The engine block exploded so hard a fucking piston rod fell out of the bottom. This must be what a snuff film in the Cars universe is like
If you just say "put cheese sauce in the oil lol," it sounds completely stupid, like a toddler feeding a sandwich to a VCR.
Turns out it takes a lot of problem-solving and automotive engineering know-how to actually accomplish this. It's like shitposting in iambic pentameter.
Garbage time is top tier. Binged the whole channel. I love JamesChannel too. As someone who loves tinkering, it's like dankpods but with actual technical know how and repair.
James is usually the adult in the room, which plays off well against Wade's childish maniacal energy.

He has really close ties to LTT. Dank atleast used to stream on floatplane (LTTs patreon alternative) and he is friends with Linus. Linus is a investor in framework. A little bit dubios to say the least.

He's still on Floatplane, and from where I'm sitting it looks more like a business relationship that anything super chummy. I have no doubt Linus reached out to Wade to get him onto Floatplane after Twitch fucked him over, but only after Linus did his due diligence and found out about Wade's 1M+ YT subs.
Meanwhile, I'm disappointed in James. He's started shilling LTT merch in every single video description. I thought he was better than that.
