Idunno, actually. If I had to make an actual guess, it would be that if an asian woman is going to marry a white man, it might be because he seems to her to be more manly or exotic or more closely aligned with modern beauty standards, and so when a son inherits the features of both of their parents, he feels inadequate compared to his own father and feels like either his father "stole" his mother from the Asian race or his mom "betrayed" the Asian race, and either way he feels unwanted. He ends up wishing he was completely white so he would better align with what his mother, the first woman in his life, has shown him to be desirable, or he ends up wishing he was completely Asian so that he could somehow "save" some Asian woman from being swooped up by a white guy.
Just conjecture, but for as few Hapa men must exist, it's strange how many of them seem to end up this way.

It's more then just height though. East Asian men tend to be more feminine and soft in features then whites. People famously said Elliot Rodgers was a twink. So you have a mixed race guy already struggling with a mixed ethnic identity which creates feelings of not really belonging who is also short and effeminate looking. I think this combination in men (Most hapa women do just fine from what I've seen) creates this complex with hapa guys.

Glad to have found this thread. I just signed up to this site and used to be pretty obsessed with HIMR.
I used to have a 250 page document I wrote containing all the information I collected on him from live-streams and research.
Eventually Daniel's content got increasingly boring, lost interest a little before he moved to Manchester for a little while. I'm going to check him out again now, see what the little fella is up to.
