Dan Harmon has never written an actual story. This TV show climbing up its own ass and pretending to progress is the closest thing he will get to a story. But he has no experience in it and this won't help him get better. Seems like a common trend these days.

What's funny is this could be truer than you think, Sam Hyde who owned a show called world peace on adult swim has gone on record stating that after his show got canned adult swim approached him asking if they could buy his second season script so they could take the jokes and give it to "other adult swim shows" this implies that adult swim is possibly buying jokes for their writers. Although they were never specific about which show the jokes would be given to but I highly suspect it was for rick and Morty

After listening to some MDE, there definitely is some overlap where some of their jokes could be retooled for Rick & Morty. Pretty insidious, actually.
