Good, I'd actually watch Aykroyd's version. Articles mentioned the story he was writing way back when Ivan Reitman was supposed to direct the movie and what I saw was way better than the botched abortion that we got in 2016.
Can you imagine the salt that we'd get if this movie came out and was successful?
 
Dan is a child at heart and loves his work as an entertainer. Unfortunately reality hits hard as time goes by. Just stop already.
 
It would be interesting to see if it could get made how popular it would be in relation to femmebusters.
But I seriously think that it won't, if Dan had the ability to get it made by now, then it would have been made, not stuck in development hell.

It would be amazing to see the salt flowing through the veins of critics if it was a genuine success with fans, and they would have to eat crow because either they'd agree that Femmebusters was garbage, or they'd have to put down a generally well received movie.

If Aykroyd made a new Ghostbusters movie, with Hudson and Murray, possibly with Weaver and even Moranis, leading to a great movie with a well deserved success at the box office, the narrative of the Ghostbustettes syncophants would not change one bit:

First they would claim that the movie was successful cause it was playing up to the entitlement of old fanboys and second, they would claim that the big bad patriarchy liked it cause women are delegated to supporting characters.

You underestimate the strength of this self-victimization narrative.

Ya know I genuinely want to meet whomever it was that first popularised the concept of "call everyone who criticises our products untermensch bigot scum, ESPECIALLY if they have been loyally buying and supporting our products for decades!" and buy them a drink since they have (unintentionally or not) helped expose so very many worthless hacks and sellouts in so many industries
 
Crystal Head must have been hitting him too hard if he has the audacity to try and work on a Ghostbusters 3.
