Crime D4vd Arrested for Murder of Celeste Rivas - Groomer turned baby mama murderer finally gets comeuppance

Singer D4vd has been arrested for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was found dead in Hollywood in the trunk of his Tesla in September.

According to the LAPD, D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested by the Robbery-Homicide Division for the murder of Hernandez and is being held without bail. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were investigating a trip the 21-year-old took to the Santa Barbara area sometime during the spring of 2025 following Hernandez’s death. A spokesman for the musician said in September that he was “fully cooperating with authorities,” though as of Nov. 18 NBC Los Angeles reported Burke was no longer cooperating with law enforcement.

Officers were called to a tow yard on Sept. 8 following reports of a foul odor coming from the car, which had been on the property for several days. Police found a dismembered body that had been placed inside of a bag in the front trunk of the vehicle.

The car was registered in Hempstead, Texas to Burke and impounded after being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, where neighbors complained of a rotting smell. As of Sept. 9, the case was being treated as a death investigation.

Hernandez was reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, Calif., last year. She was last seen in April 2024, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. After her body was found, police said that because a manner of death had not been determined.

Shortly after the discovery, Burke quietly canceled his U.S. tour and postponed the promotion of his deluxe album.

Lacked evidence enough to hold him by whose standards? This sounds more like an issue of activist judges setting their own special insane standards that don't follow the law or precedent. Maybe LAPD has to play by different rules but putting the public at risk to satisfy an activist judge probably means the entire system needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

The only crime they can really hold him for without bail is the murder charge itself and if they do that they're on the clock to actually go to trial. Memories of OJ and not wanting to botch a high profile trial are motivations to take your time and make sure you've got everything right. Im trying to figure out how he would have went about disposing of a whole ass chainsaw. A knife and a saw are small and conspicuous enough that you could bury one in your backyard and nobody would even notice. The moratorium is on actually implementing the execution, right? They can still receive the sentence.

Sure he probably won't get killed as things are but if California shifts politically (won't of its own initiative, but maybe a bunch of illegal voters get booted or some federal legislation shifts how elections are conducted), it's not a zero chance.

And I would imagine that non-zero chance will affect negotiations.

When you're on death row you're on 24/7 lockdown in a cell like 1/4 the size of a normal one and you're not allowed in the yard, out for recreation, or to interact with gen pop in any way.
