Yeah, the "secret" ending is where you sit in that chair long enough and Silverhand goes "Hey, wanna just do it together like a couple of dying guys should?"

IMO its probably the best way to do it since you just fucking kick open the door to the front lobby, start blasting your way through, and since you aren't doped up on either drug you get nailed with permanent health debuffs from your brain shitting itself the deeper you go in.

Wouldn't say its the most fun though since that goes to the Nomad section where you and Panam go full panzerboy in an upgraded tank as you and the Aldecaldoes launch a Mad Max motorized assault on a Night Corp maglev tunnel that just so happens to be conveniently close to Mikoshi.

When Silverhand talks about the AI doing things in that mission where you investigate Peralez being gaslight and reprogrammed I don't think he's lying. Garry got some weird messages about Alpha Centauri that proved astoundingly prescient thanks to a funny chip in his brain, and there's some Sovereign-grade spooky shit you find in Cynosure in the other path. Night Corp being in bed with some sort of AI would explain a ton, especially since Blue Eyes is involved with both Peralez and Songbird.

Games been in my backlog for a while now. Finally getting around to it and I'm actually having fun overall. But I also went in with literally zero expectations so there's that.

One thing that keeps bugging me is that I can just tell how rushed and unfinished the game still is, even though I didn't follow the game at all. I have zero idea how rough it was at launch or the cursed dev cycle etc, but it's just clear as day that this game had a rough go of things. I'd really like to see just how different the game was initially intended to be because this can't have been the original vision.

But yeah. Having fun all things considered. Which is more than I can say for a lot of games I've tried playing this year.

I have the race missions left before I can go do the one man army ending but I can't bring myself to deal with it because of prior experience with dealing with pinhead AI not understanding gaps between vehicles or intersections in general.

The race missions remind me of the part in the tournament quest from TW3's Blood and Wine where you have to ride the horse while hitting dummies and shooting targets with the crossbow. For that, I ended up using CE to slow the game down and likewise, for the race missions, I just got a mod that made the cars less ass. Simple mod - I think it was just some .ini tweaks rather than a full blown vehicle overhaul.

Did you do any of the street fighting circuit? It's like they forgot to finish it.
 
What version of Cyberpunk have CDPR finished their retooling?

I'm looking at getting: Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition – v2.1 + All DLCs + Bonus Content + REDmod

Is there a more recent edition that I should look at or (gasp) purchase?
 
v2.2 is the latest but it doesn't add much unless you're really into the changing the color of your cars or having more color options in the character creator. I think it also adds new options to photo mode. You should be fine with 2.1.

I've been replaying it on and off for the last few months with 2.1 and haven't run into any problems.
 
I did the racing missions on my first playthrough to 100% but never play them on subsequent playthroughs solely because it reveals the bartender is actually a last minute tranny and pretty much ruins her character. I really think it was a late choice in development as I don’t even think her VA is a troon, so it’s just really out of left field and she’s literally the only named troon in game unless you make V one. I was always surprised the trannies didn’t get pissed off about that considering everything else they throw fits about.

In Phantom Liberty there's the super obvious tranny who's in line to replace the Barghest leader whats-his-name after he's offed. I tried looking up the VA, but there's no credit for him. There's a note in game that says they're supposed to be FTM, but the VA is 100% a tranny of some sort.

I always do the racing missions and complete all of them. Even the final one.
I'm not gonna lose a race because of a troon. That thing can fuck itself.

I guess I can see that. I just thought was a really flamboyant guy dude.

I knew shooting him in his stupid face was the right call when I did it.
 
Still having fun all things considered but the game grinds my gears with how safe-edgy it is. You'd think at this point they'd at least see that people don't give a fuck about nudity since BG3 is so successful in spite of it. It's just such a strange choice to have you be naked in the menu, give you those body options, but cover up your nethers.

And the game is still off putting for how rushed the pacing is. The story is breakneck and you get almost no time to spend with the people you're supposed to have an attachment too, and almost too much time to develop a connection to others like Takemura. Takemura is clearly a game long companion of sorts, meanwhile you do like 4 missions with Panam and she's sucking your cock on the couch. You get like 30 minutes with Jackie before he eats shit, T-Bug might as well not even exist etc.

Also romances are shit. The whole "come over to my place" thing is just some real next level cringe. It feels like being 14 and having your girlfriend over, and you're left alone for the first time. The awkward dancing thing you can do, the super cringe cuddle on the couch. Most normal thing you can do is shower and that's just you standing there staring like a goober. Another example of why you just shouldn't bother with romances unless you're going to actually make content for them outside of the checklist of missions before the one off sex scene.

It seems pretty clear to me that they were laying the groundwork for rogue AI to become the major villains of the setting going forward, especially since you get a taste of how devastating Blackwall shit can be if you save Songbird in Phantom Liberty.

I fully expect Nu CDPR to completely squander this potential however.
