I think I had leggings just like Chris's in that pic when I was a kid. But if was the early 90s and I am also a girl. I never saw boys in leggings that I can remember. But I may just be remembering wrong. Maybe they're long johns or something.
A lot of Chris' appearance and clothing choice is quite unorthodox. He just started dressing strange early on.

Mario was at Service Merchandise, as well! Seeing all these cartoon characters come to life like this must've helped cement in his head that Sonichu and his creations were real, living things.

His expression amuses me though, he thinks Mario is a homo or something?

Pictures of Chris at home as a kid always look like he is visiting his grandparents. Not just because his parents were old.

His MOM dressed him strangely early on. Everybody's mom dressed them badly early on. The thing is, most people grew out of letting Mommy pick their clothes by the time they were adolescents. Chris is in his thirties and letting his mom pick his clothes--with the exception of the 'Tomgirl' wardrobe.

Maybe the lack of his neck disturbs him. It certainly gives me the creeps. I know that a lot of people will say that costume mascots are inherently creepy, but this one looks a lot shittier than some.

How short is that mascot? Chris nearly towers above him!

In which case he just wears his mother's clothes.

I was going to make this crack, but it doesn't seem like he based his Tomgirl fashion on his mom's clothes. He just basically feminized his own (lack of) style--jeans turned into jean skirts, clown shirts turned into ugly bold striped tank tops.

I just realized -- maybe they're not leggings but thermal pjs? Who didn't have a pair as a kid?

That's clearly what the kid had on. They're really great when you live in cold winter climates. People are just reaching lately for things to make fun of. I'm surprised there are so few comments on the playground picture where Chris is wearing cutoff short shorts.

Yeah, I just assumed they were long underwear. They're pretty convenient if you're dealing with cold weather.

Maybe it's like party princesses and they have to stay riiiiight off the line of copyright infringement.

lol, no she was referred to as Barbie. We got to pretend to do a commercial with Barbie. Toys R Us loaned us a boxed Barbie toy for the day and we did a dialogue with her. I had the Barbie Porsche. My mom bought it for me a few weeks later.

Those are the worst cut off jeans I've ever seen. :cryblood:

You can see the beginnings of the buddha belly if you look closely. And yeah, those cut-offs are pretty damn sad.

What the hell is up with that face on his shirt? :?

Is it a face? I thought it was a stain or an oil splotch or something. I can't tell.

Also, the pic is from 1991, Chris would have been nine then and lots of kids still have puppy fat at that age. It's not totally unheard of for a kid to have a bit of a muffin top at that age and then lose the weight when they reach teenagerdom. Granted, the clothes fit atrociously (the ol' Borb 'quantity over quality' principle as applied to Goodwill clothing, I'm sure), as well.

Super Mario games have a proven Autism correcting effect when played heavily. Somewhere, in an alternate universe, Christian grew up a Super Mario fanboy and he fully cracked out of his Autistic shell, possibly with the blunt force of a roaming Koopa shell.

It's his "Shroud of Turin" shirt.

Hell, I used to wear them to work, when the cold got really bad. (I took the bus). Then when I got there I'd just go to the ladies room and change, then change back before I left. (Yes, I wore them under a pair of pants, obviously)
