No joke, I cannot for the life of me eat uncooked food. It has to be cooked through, otherwise my brain says ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT and makes me either gag or throw up if I swallow it. Goes for beef, fish (once invited for a birthday in sushi restaurant, went very hungry that day), whatever. Even soft boiled eggs are stretching it. Idk maybe some traumatic experience from the past.

I think western style packed school lunches are a cursed format for the meal. It makes everything you put in it unappealing because of the constraints of the format. Hot food prepped at 8am won’t be hot at noon (maybe warm if you use a thermos, not hot though) cold food won’t stay cold (the reusable cold packs do very little imo) and everything is in plastic bags or Tupperware so it feels like you are eating leftovers even if you aren’t.
Sometimes the kids do not have access to a microwave to reheat the food to make it more appealing. I never ate much of them and now my daughter doesn’t want them either. Every one of these stupid boxed lunches I prep, more than 70% of it goes to the dog.
I find bento box style lunchbox is at least a little more visually appealing, since now it’s a cute little tray of choices (carrot sticks in this compartment, cheese in another, tendies/sandwich in the big one, little bit of ranch in the tiny compartment, dessert in the last, etc.) instead of a mixed bag of slop. But it’s telling that when you give kids the choice between a hot school lunch from the cafeteria or a packed lunch they pick the hot lunch every time.

Reminds me of a very disgusting looking dish we have here, called "Cuzcuz paulista"
The food itself isn't anything gross - it's corn flour based, with eggs, sardines, peas, tomatoes etc... but the appearance is absolutely revolting. I know it doesn't taste bad, but i never had the will to actually eat this because it looks like barf

It tastes fine but nothing of note. Im mad that you made me remember the chocolate flavour. What a sickening joke they played on me, my lunch was ruined AND I NEVER EVEN GOT MY MONEY BACK.
