It's a dissappointment, but for what it was I still found it to be fun. I love terrible horror movies though. I laughed at quite a few of the ridiculous parts too.

I love old terrible horror movies when they intentionally try not to be terrible, but when it's intentionally terrible for the sake of being terrible then its no where near as fun.

This is why I couldn't stand the hype over films like the Sharknado series, or any movie that deliberately goes for "camp" or "So bad it's good" status from the get go, deliberately engineered to be "bad" because they want to make the next "Plan 9" or "The Room" out of purely mercenary motives or because they're hacks who think overly quirky-for-quirk's sake makes a good film.
In general, when it comes to so-called "cult movies", nothing tweaks my gag response more than pictures which, conspire for cult status from the get go. Films like The Dark Backward (1991), Parents (1987) Liquid Sky (1982), Andy Warhol's (fill in the blank) and many others are phony excursions into weirdness and often are just bad amateur movies trying to get a free pass as a cult flick.
On the other hand, real cult flicks were made by people who had a purity of vision, it needn't be "SOOOOO WEIRD" but it was something a little too off-beat, or didn't hew to standard Hollywood formula, or many other reasons, but nevertheless the word was spread organically instead of via deliberate hype and the movies gained a reputation and have a charm to them, and/or a purity of vision from the creator.

Reddit in general bitches about them being problematic, but their subreddit is chock full of people fulfilling the "friend simulator" stereotype of RLM's fans.
