I'm sure all the dipshits that went to a theater are thrilled. They are the same people that LOVED EXU, they physically can't comprehend Critical Role not being 100% amazing.

I'm wondering if Travis and the EXU rejects are temporary, but that'd be truly terrible storytelling. Having characters pop in and out would just be confusing for newcomers.
That makes me want to drink more.

Back in CR2 people used to joke around that Matt's piss easy encounters were due to him not wanting any character to die as to not piss off the fanbase and drive away any significant slice of the viewership. Its also a long running joke, even amongst the players, that the show has secret writers that are there to ensure the campaign goes the way its intended. By this point its really not that hard to believe that all of this is completely true.

This shit is simply nothing like the avarage tabletop experience.
I don't watch or like Critical Role because its ruined an entire new generation of potential DnD players for me to play with but If nobody can die, then where's the tension? I remember when I was super into Penny Arcades DnD shenanigans, Wil Wheatons character dieing was a genuinely shocking moment when it happened. His death was even more impactful since in the campaign before his death he successfully pulled their asses out of the fire and was the last man standing in the last encounter. (At least if im remembering properly that's how it went. They also brought him back later which sucked.)

Sure, don't make your campaign uber hard nonsense but the threat needs to be there. Otherwise your players can just run around going full retard all the time.

Travis isn't even playing a permanent character since he's two levels higher. I don't get the rationale for having him play what seems to be an NPC. What the fuck is this shit?
The reason Travis' character is 2 levels higher is because he's one of his previous characters from a canon one-shot that was level 18. He's from the Search for Grog/Bob. He very likely is a permanent character.

Great decision, bring in three characters from the side campaign that a big segment of your audience hated. This is actually hilarious how quickly this is going down in flames for me.
Out of all the actors from the one shot they picked the one that was by far the least obnoxious from what I saw. He might actually be a decent character since his gimmick wasn't "shit and piss, look at me!". I feel like Robby may be a permanent addition rather than a guest.

Of course Taliesin played a faggot again. It would be more interesting if he actually went outside of his real life experience for once.
why isn't there any edgelord characters? I mean it isn't a d and d game without an edgelord.
Taliesen's character in the first campaign was an edgelord, that literally invented guns to get revenge, and also by far my favorite PC he's done. He wasn't some gay/troon stereotype, and was actually really cool as a character and probably my favorite PC from campaign 1. This current character is just Mollymauk again because he didn't get to play him in campaign 2.

Any confirmation if diversity hire air genie guy is here to stay?

From their official newsletter.
I'm fairly convinced the new guy and Travis' higher level character are permanent additions.

What an absolute dumpster fire. My shocked Pikachu face at the turn of events of them shilling out like rejects. I can't wait till they are all wearing "RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS" t-shirts or hats that say "RIDGE WALLETS" on them.

I salute all you Autists who can survive listening to this shit. I look at the cliff notes and I'd rather watch Neckbeardia reborn for 4 hours straight than this shit.

I was about to ask, "who the fuck are *any* of these people?" Except...
I'm ashamed to admit that, I'm pretty sure that I recognize the lone white dude in this picture. That's Brennan Lee Mulligan, right? (I had had to look up his name because I don't know much about him, except...)
Probably because I was watching Critical Role Campaign 2 at the time, this shitty internet game show came up in my feed a while back:
I watched a couple of episodes of it, including that one ...until an obvious troon showed up as a contestant in a later episode. Somebody should have said "umm actually, that's a man." When that didn't happen, I realized this show was a sham.

Also of note, and this proves my point, Matt Mercer himself was on this same game show in a different episode at some point I guess.

Yep, that's a D&D Beyond add alright...

I remember them being CR's #1 sponsor back in the day, and the vice-versa could also be true, CR's constant endorsement of the website really helped it take off and the two teams have been "buddy-buddy" for half a decade now. Of course, this means the same bullshit also leaked into D&D Beyond...or maybe it leaked into CR from D&D Beyond? I dunno, but what I do know is that, while the site still mostly features articles actually about D&D, you don't have to look far to see "woke" shit, articles on using "trigger warning" at you table and another that unironically used "Latinx" to refer to Hispanic's.

The tools the site itself offers are fine, it's great to use when introducing a new 5e player to the game and makes it easy to teach them the basic's of building a character. But aside from that, you really got to shell out a good chunk of change if you want more then a handful of options for making and leveling up a character. There are plenty of apps that cost less the $5 that do what DnD Beyond does and nearly just as well while also giving you all the options right up front, even from the extra source books.

Anyways, it's not surprising that the folks over at Beyond would try and push a team like this for a show. Can't help but noticed that they shoved the token white guy all the way in the back, because obviously dorky white dudes are the last group of people who would be interested in a show about a tabletop game.

So... I gave you an "agree", but if being honest, the only woman in that pic that *doesn't* look like a tranny to me is the red head. I'm curious what your second one was.
The hispanic woman in blue, the logo is covering up what I assume is a nice set of tits. Also, I love D&D beyond for an application and don't fucking read any bullshit they publish.

The 'men' are all gay AF and it wouldn't surprise me if the black dude plays a goddamn pixie druid to switch things up him being a massive dude and all.

All the 'men' will play simp like characters and all the women will be the Front Line fighting class. I'll put money I can name what Class/Race they will play by looking at them. I also have no idea who the DM is. I'll assume the women are women and the men are men for ease of description

1. Blonde White Woman: Elf Paladin
2. Redhead white woman: Tiefling Ranger
3. Black woman with dreads: Goliath Barbarian
4. Hispanic Woman: Human Fighter
5. Asian Woman: Tiefling Warlock
6. Red head white male: Tabaxxi Rogue
7. Black Male: Pixie Druid
