Creepy Unsolved Mysteries - From unsolved murders to unidentified people to unexplained supernatural events, what are some of the creepiest unsolved mysteries you've ever heard of?

This is the creepy unsolved mystery I am dealing with right now.

but as i said, the remote is inside a closed drawer beneath the tv
Are you in an apartment complex? One of your neighbors has a remote that has the same setup. Even if you're in a separate house, this can happen. I knew of someone whose garage door opened every time their next door neighbors changed the channel, and this was back when remotes weren't used for absolutely everything, including things that don't really need it. Seriously, there's nothing going on here.

so heres the thing, i live in a flats,
on the top floor
and theres no visible window that can point to my tv
and both buildings positioned on the left and right of my house is empty on the top floor
1 being a building for sale and been tightly padlocked completely
the other being an afterschool education thing which is closed by 8 in the night.

I was sleeping in bed with my wife last week
and she woke me up at midnight. the TV in our room is on, we looked for the remote on the bed and the counter beside our bed, but no remote
Approaching the TV I found the remote in the drawer beneath the TV
There was no sleep timer/wake timer on the tv at all.

The next day, it happened again. It just turned on by itself. No timers, the remote is out of anyone's reach.

and on the 3rd night and onwards since, it hasnt turned on by itself ever.

This is the creepy unsolved mystery I am dealing with right now.
I took your remote and hid it from you because you're lazy and you watch too much TV instead of doing chores. You're weak. You lack discipline. It's time now to turn this mush into muscles.

Apparently it was recently the anniversary of the Beaumont children case. That whole story is all kinds of weird.
That's coming up soon. The abduction happened on January 26, 1966.

I think they got abducted by someone not from the area (in other words, not Harry Phipps) and murdered within 24 hours.

Update on the TV turning on at night by itself:

The TV hasnt turned on by itself at all since,

But a tidbit i did left out when it first happened and why it shook me somewhat
was because just shortly before i woke up to that mysterious and creepy events
I had a dream or a nightmare of sorts where I was at a buddhist temple, surrounded by buddhist monks all sitting on a cushion as they were chanting mantras,
the place is extremely well lit and the hall was airconditioned
yet in the dream i kept feeling something was off, as i turned around and look behind me, amongst the sea of bald buddhist monks nothing seemed out of the ordinary until i saw an extremely pale long haired woman looking right at me with white eyes.
i move my head to look from the other side of a monk for a better angle but she isnt there, returning to the original angle she's there, as if i can only see her from a certain angle as she keeps glaring at me with white eyes.

thats when i woke up and noticed the tv turned on by itself, as my wife was woken up by the bright light aswell from the tv. and i looked around for the remote all over my bed, on the counter beside me and etc, until i noticed the tv remote was in the closed drawer under the tv.

...

hence why i posted about it in the Creepy Unsolved Mysteries thread here.

The dream could actually have been triggered by the TV turning on because of the time dilation in dreams.

I found an infuriating missing person's story where I can barely find any discussions. Teddy Wang. Rich man who got ransomed twice and disappeared.

Wang was abducted on 12 April 1983, when his Mercedes-Benz was hijacked. He was taken away and chained to a bed for eight days until Nina Wang paid a ransom of HK$33 million.

Wang was kidnapped again on 10 April 1990 as he left the Jockey Club in Hong Kong. His abductors demanded HK$60 million. His wife Nina paid an installment of $34 million, but Wang was not returned. Several of the alleged kidnappers were caught and said that the 56-year-old Wang had been thrown into the sea from a sampan on 13 April. His body was never found and he was declared legally dead in 1999. Wang's will was disputed by Nina, the eventual chief beneficiary. According to Nina's personal assistant, she had received phone calls from Teddy up to the year 2000.

WTF.

WTF.
This is suspicious as fuck:
After the disappearance, Nina Wang took control of Chinachem. In 1999 a court officially declared Teddy Wang dead. His father, Wang Din-shin, then asked the courts to accept Teddy’s 1968 will that made Din-shin the sole heir to his son’s estate. Din-shin said the 1968 will was drafted after Teddy Wang hired a private detective to prove that Nina was cheating on him with a warehouse manager. It replaced a 1960 will that gave Nina Wang and Din-shin equal shares in the estate.

Nina also produced a will. She claims it was written in March 1990, one month before Teddy Wang disappeared. The 1990 homemade will leaves Teddy Wang’s entire estate to Nina.

“No financial or property interests can go to anyone from my family, the Wangs. They have all been disappointing,” the 1990 will read. It ended with a handwritten love note that read, “One life, one love.” Nina filed the will in 1999. Din-shin immediately lodged a police report claiming it was forged, and the probate battle began.

It ended this week when the presiding judge, David Yam , issued a 500-page judgment discrediting the 1990 will. Yam said Teddy Wang would have never written a will without lawyers and that there was no evidence to show he was a romantic man who would have written such a note. Handwriting experts testified that the 1990 document was written as late as 1996.

But Nina Wang wasn’t the only one to have her reputation tarnished. Evidence showed that Teddy Wang’s father smoked opium and had a mistress. And it was proven that Teddy Wang himself had an affair in 1968. When his safety deposit box was opened after his disappearance, photos of “certain ladies” were also discovered.
Sounds like a bunch of degenerate chinks, including the wife. Wouldn’t shock me if she was in cahoots with the kidnappers.

And the whole "do a bunch of crazy shit, have no memory of it at all" thing
I think that shit is extremely creepy, too. When you wake up in the drunk tank you at least know you fucked up and drank too much, even if you have no memory of prior events. But this amnesiac stuff on Ambien? Hard pass, cannot lead to anything good.

Edit:
I figured, but I wrote it anyway, lol.

My favorite was Leland Orser when he was the lust victim in Se7en. The guy stayed up for days and hyperventilated in between takes, which is why he successfully sounded like a traumatized man who was forced to kill.
Whole film is a masterpiece but that scene alone just makes it. Next to Pitt spazzing out in the car over Dante's "Divine Comedy" (pretty much echoes how i felt when i first tried to read it) one of my favourite scenes.
