Creepy Unsolved Mysteries - From unsolved murders to unidentified people to unexplained supernatural events, what are some of the creepiest unsolved mysteries you've ever heard of?

Fucked up story reported locally today. 40-something dad goes to the hospital for an unspecified medical procedure; leaves the hospital against medical advice; calls his family to pick him up from a stranger's phone. Then he vanishes for two years, only for the county coroner to announce they've had skeletal remains for two years that turned out to belong to this missing guy, discovered in a wash about two months after he disappeared. (If you're wondering how he was skeletonized in such a relatively brief time, he disappeared in Las Vegas in July, the body not found until September, which makes me wonder if he was more mummy than skeleton.) No cause of death has been determined. Really, really odd, though if we had a clearer idea of what this "medical procedure" was, we might have some clue.

A suspect in the 1991 Yogurt Shop murders has been identified by DNA. His name was Robert Brashers and he died by suicide in 1999.

He only served four years in prison for his first attempted rape and murder of a woman in 1985 before being paroled and immediately went on a serial rape and murder spree upon being let out. A nasty piece of work all around.

I'm amazed they actually solved the case

State authorities have reopened their investigation into the 2014 deaths of a former state transportation commissioner and his wife, the New Jersey Attorney General's Office said Tuesday.

For years, authorities have said former Commissioner John Sheridan, 72, fatally stabbed his wife, Joyce, set their Montgomery Township home ablaze and took his own life. The Sheridans' four sons never believed that, and they repeatedly pushed to reopen the case.

I had done research on Brashers after he was posthumously identified back in 2018 for three murders and other crimes.

I never expected him to be the one behind the Austin yogurt shop murders. It sucks he killed himself when police went to arrest him for an unrelated crime and therefore won’t be brought to justice, but I’m at least grateful this waste of oxygen isn’t on the streets anymore.

LEO friend once told me:
Suicides, Vehicular homicides/accidents, hypothermia, alien abductions, missing persons...
The shoes always come off
you know how you see one shoe on the side of the road sometimes? I spent decades of my life wondering how they got there and then one day I saw someone get hit by a car and watched one of her shoes fly off and get forgotten on the side of the road. Realization hit me like a freight train.

Had hypnogogic hallucinations last night, a nest of giant spiders in the corner of the room.
Haven't had one of these in 20+ years. It was fairly vivid. I was in bed looking into the kitchen and there was a cat on top of the cabinet facing away from me. It wasn't a cat I actually had so I was wondering where it came from. It turned its head 180 degrees to look straight at me and had the head of an owl, immediately startling me awake.

I have been brought to tears laughing at stories from people who have experienced memory impairment from Ambien, including a large, burly man who was totally perplexed by an expensive and ornate mermaid costume delivered to his home which he had evidently ordered in the middle of the night. Sometimes, though , the stories are not that harmless. I would guess there are a notably higher-than-normal number of little "unsolved mysteries" in the lives of people who have ever been prescribed zolpidem.

And yes. Check your carbon monoxide detectors, one and all.
As a young adult/teen I was put on a medication that had me stumble and go down the stairs one night with an ironing board that snapped in half, while I don't really know what happened (because I was so embarrassed and scared I didn't want to ask my family to explain exactly what happened and just got the broad story, I got off the meds immediately) I'm firmly convinced the ironing board cushioned my fall and prevented me from breaking my neck.
I woke up the next morning and saw blood on my carpet, apparently I had a smaller nosebleed, and went out to the hallway and saw the broken ironing board, my siblings found it absolutely hilarious of course so I was extremely embarrassed about not remembering a thing.

You’d be amazed (or maybe you wouldn’t be) by what sleepwalkers can do, I used to know a friend at uni who had a serious problem with it. We were camping and he warned us about it and that if we found him up after lights out to just be aware. Once he’d climbed out of an upstairs window, onto the roof, and was doing handstands along the top line. He fell when they tried to get him down

A family member sleep walks and you just have to leave him to it or make a bunch of loud noises to wake him as he will attack if you put a hand on him. His dad tired the "gentle hands on the shoulders and guide them towards bed" thing they tell you to do only to be grabbed by the throat and pinned to the wall. It was only after shouting his name he woke up confused and horrified at what he was doing.

Eh, normally that gets cleaned up. A lot of the time it's apparently little kids chucking shoes and shits out windows, from what I've heard.
Fire and RCMP tend to clean up anything left over from scenes, or the tow truck does it. At least in Canada.

I mean, that's a scary thought. Somewhere in the darkness of space there are alien creatures lurking between the stars, hungrily looking from above and the only thing they crave is... FEET.
No one would have believed, in the early years of the twenty-first century, that human affairs were being gooned at from the timeless worlds of space.

(Are they close to who killed Asha Degree?)
They released some texts from some suspects.

Still curious why she decided to go outside in the pouring rain. Either she just hated home so much she had to leave or the likely suspects and her made this arrangement to meet and didn’t care if it was going to rain or not.

Of course, her parents blame raycism. A NASCAR driver had her painted on his car so people can help find her, some large businesses (Servpro?) had missing notices painted on their vehicles, and has been an active investigation for 25 years, but wypipo haven’t done enough apparently. The Dedmon family that seems to be the prime suspects are white but the fact niggers aren’t ooking and eeking over them is a sign it’s likely not them.

Trying to think....since they solved the Yogurt Shop case, what other cold cases could be solved with this method?

I'd like to see someone fingered for the Redhead murders. There is some extant DNA here. These ladies have stayed with me ever since they discovered who killed Buckskin Girl, who was once thought to be among the victims of this unknown serial killer (but has since been excluded).

More unsolved mass murders.

Specifically, the Lane Bryant shooting, the Las Cruces bowling alley massacre, the Alaskan fishing boat murders, the Miyazawa family murders, the Keddie murders, the Burger Chef murders, the Walker family murders, the Lake Bodom murders, the Arellano family murders, and the Frog Boys.

Whoever committed these murders is probably still alive and working for Sweet Baby Inc. and is the guy in charge of replacing every single redhaired female in vidya with niggers.
