I'm a huge Molly Ringwald fan, and I am not ashamed of it. She's a huge influence on me, and in addition to acting, she's also a singer and a writer like me. One day, I felt I could pay my respects, and give a shout out to her on Facebook. She has an official page which she occasionally makes announcements, but rarely comments or responds to other people. Out of curiosity, I scrolled down and saw a photo of herself shared by a "Molly Molinette". (https://www.facebook.com/molly.molinette?fref=ts) The photo wasn't on the official Facebook page, or her official website. On this profile, Molly (or maybe an evil doppelganger, I'm not sure) posts almost nothing but creepy closeups of her face, sometimes giving a Kubrick stare capable of scaring Alex DeLarge. This doesn't exactly gel with the bubbly, affable persona I know from recent YouTube interviews like this one:
The plot thickens. Some friends of Molly "Molinette" are writer/director Paul Schrader, actress Jennifer Grey, ABC anchor Dan Abrams, and Susan Orlean, writer of The Orchid Thief and the basis for Meryl Streep's character in Spike Jonze's Adaptation.. I may have stumbled upon something her fans weren't meant to see...
