The funniest article post-sjw was one where the writer was "tired" of bashing friends, family, and Trump after the election. It read like a newgrounds edgelord piece.

Which of the writers was the sad, poor alcoholic who only wrote articles about how he was a sad, poor alcoholic again? Because he was especially unfunny.

It was actually shittier than that. His articles weren't just about his past alcoholism and poverty but specifically about how being an ex alcoholic made him better than you.

The only thing I'll be sad about once Cracked finally shuts down is I won't be able to read classic Seanbaby and Brockway articles or watch Swaim's old videos. Brockway's "Choose Your Own Drug Fueled Misadventures" were comedy gold every time.

I just remember what made me drop Cracked entirely.

I dropped the articles completely about 6 months after GG exploded, but I kept watching the video content with the app. What pissed me off was super autistic but whatever. It was the Harry Potter skits, it wasn't the quality of them, just that I disagree with Muggle Wanking and Wizards-R-Dum nonsense. So I sperged out and never came back.

Ah, yes, him. The guy who tried to give "inspiring life advice" and just came off like he couldn't get over anything at all. Like, we get it, your dad was a drunk, you were a drunk, and now you write articles for Cracked. Sympathy only goes so far.

He also had daddy issues that rivaled Stephenie Meyer’s.

Now that he's been let go, will he become a drunk again? The only reason he worked at Cracked was because he was Wongs butt buddy.

I can't wait for his next article, "5 Reasons Why My Regression Into Sheer, Liver-Withering Alcoholism Is Actually Your Fault."

And by "article" I mean having it shouted in my face on a street corner by Cheese while I wait for the police to arrive.

I'm not gonna lie, I am sad to hear that it's come to this. Cracked really was funny and informative a few years ago. Back in high school, I would check Cracked every morning and read the new article (or articles). I really did enjoy the site back then, but as Cracked changed for the worst (around the time I graduated and started college), I visited less and less until I stopped browsing the site entirely. I'll still look back on the old Cracked with fondness, but unfortunately it's been gone for a long time.
I agree that the politics thing is overblown, but "lists" aren't really a format that gets old. It's not that their style got dated, or that their audience outgrew it. The problem is they quite literally started crowdsourcing their articles and paying random forum speds to write them, so the quality fell through the floor. Funny lists are funny, unfunny lists aren't funny. And if you recruit mouthbreathing spastics from your comments section, you get what you pay for.
Yeah, I feel like people are overblowing the whole "those darn ess jay double-yous" thing. While the increasingly liberal bent Cracked took certainly sped up its decline, I also feel like the site just became way too oversaturated in general. When I was reading Cracked regularly 4-5 years ago, there was usually only one or two articles posted a day, along with a couple of videos/blog posts that didn't get anywhere close to the traffic that the main articles got. Now, it seems like Cracked pumps out 10 things a day, and the main page is cluttered with content people aren't that interested in reading or watching.

It's a "quality vs quantity" problem. Cracked used to prize quality over quantity, but now it's the opposite.

I stopped going to the website long ago but I kept watching the youtube vidoes for a while after. Then they posted this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edZvPUwMpp0

It's just a person soapboxing. Their wasn't even a pretense of it being comedy. If you're going to rant about a subject you should at least couch in it a few jokes so it feels like it's meant to be comedy. Maybe they did in the second half of the video but I wouldn't know because I didn't bother watching it all the way through. I haven't bothered with them since.

Screw them.

I remember how right after the start of the second Obama term they were taking every opportunity to explain how Bush was still destroying the country. Every problem in society was blamed on a guy who had been out of power for 4 years. It got old quick, and showed exactly how biased they were. I gave up on them around that time because of it.
