Meanwhile Daredevil, Punisher & Jessica Jones get cancelled. Netflix is quickly turning into what Asylum Films would be if they had money. Get your puke bucket ready because there is no chance this isn't going to be nauseating.
We haven't forgotten about Death Note, Netflix
How do you fuck up a premise as rock simple as "give Eric Harris a notebook that kills people"?

Oh Hell no! Leave Cowboy Bebop alone! Last thing we need is a lazily written, badly acted, full woke live action with shitty effects.

Also I'm scared to think what the woke producers might to to Ed and the whole Faye arc
If Hollywood gets to skull fuck Ghost in the Shell then all bets are off, this was as inevitable as the shitty Wizard of Oz tv remake.

Funny how it started as soon as Netflix received some money from the Open Society Foundations.

What a coincidence!

They used to do some really cool stuff with their back end but I knew the fun was over when you couldn't express that you didn't like a show/movie anymore.

Then they pulled your ability to hide things you didn't want to see.

I don't even know if you can write critiques anymore because I dropped my account but if you can it will surely be gone soon.

Soros needs to die already though to be honest I worry about the brainwashed freaks waiting to take over his plot for world domination.

I don't see how they could possibly do this series right as live action on a Netflix budget.
I also see no reason for it to exist in the first place.
The anime was perfect. Leave it the fuck alone.

John Cho doesn't come across as cool, badass, or sexy. Not even in the slightest. And Netflix is telling us that THIS is Spike Spiegel?!

Fuck off, Netflix. This is going to be a hard pass for me.

In a perfect world, we'd be seeing Keanu Reeves as Spike, and he would have gotten the big budget that he wanted to make the live action movie. We can't have genuine fans of the series make anything though; we gotta hire people who don't understand and/or hate the source material!

I mean yeah mkay I’m feeling the same way about Cho but we have real examples of actors pulling magic out of their ass and making it work ala heath ledger. Will this be one of those times tho? Doubt it

SOMEONE MAKE THEM STOP PLEASE

If they really wanted to have a ~ diverse ~ Spike who is cool, badass and sexy, I mean, Daniel Henney is right there! He's handsome, has done action movies before, and has a very charming stage presence. He'd be a way better cast for Spike than Cho.

Though Keanu will always be the best cast for Spike. No argument there.

I would even pick Steven Yuen (Glenn from The Walking Dead) over Cho. He may have been an innocent "every day man" in that show, but if you see him when he's not Glenn, he really is handsome and a charmer. He's a damn good actor too.

I feel like Netflix picked Cho because "Asian diversity quota, and we have no idea that there are other Asian men in the industry" lol. What dumbasses.

I remember when Keanu Reeves wanted to make the movie, and lots of anime fans bitched and moaned about it. I was one of the very few people who got really excited at the thought of Keanu Reeves as Spike right after the movie was announced. Keanu would have portrayed Spike's aloofness and despondency perfectly. Lots of anime fans warmed up to the idea after the project was canceled, and, of course, after they saw John Wick and got properly reminded that Keanu Reeves is fucking awesome.

Keanu wanted to make a Bebop movie ultimately because he's a fan of the series, too. A shame that it won't happen ...

-Netflix’s expected ROI for Cowboy Bebop: 30,000,000,000 Woolongs.
-Netflix’s actual post-tax profit for Cowboy Beflop: 3 Woolongs

Dear Netflix-
Keep anime as an anime.

Do not make an anime into a live-action.

It did not work with Death Note. It won't work here.

You KNOW it won't work here. Especially if you're trying to make a live-action of one of the top 5 most beloved animes of all time.

Please use that money and instead make an anime. You did great with Castlevania, Devilman, Ajin, and BLAME.

If you're deadset on making a live action, then do something with at least a smaller following and something where you can alter things around a bit without pissing off everyone. Psycho-Pass comes to mind, that can be a live action easy enough. Or Planetes. Or hell, Golgo 13. Just... don't touch Bebop.

John Cho as Spike? I just don't see it. To play Spike you need someone who is not only cool and suave but possess the ability to kick some serious ass. You need someone like Jet Lee.

I can't wait for the normies to whine that it's just another Firefly rip-off.

Wait, Cowboy Bebop's one of the few anime that even normies know about. Goddamn it, just who was this series for, anyway? Asking as someone who hasn't minded the idea of a live-action Cowboy Bebop especially since the studio is supposedly working closely with the creators (or perhaps were) and they're doing live-action One Piece, too.
