I never even really seen anything from the anime, aside from that one scene in the very beginning with the Corner store or whatever, so I don't have a comparison point like a TRUE AND HONEST fan would. But I could INSTANTLY tell how fucking goofy this shit looks.

Oh lovely, they cast ContraPoints as Gren.
(BTW- the costuming and styling for Gren is insanely wrong. In the anime, the reveal that Gren has breasts was a shock, because he looked obviously male upon first look. Way to fuck up the twist, Netflix.)
Also, that picture of Vicious is hilarious. The actor looks like he's about to crack up with laughter.

It's probably just for the opening credits. The showrunner doesn't care about those characters and stories, he wants to make a Netflix show with current year issues.

You are forgetting one of the golden rules that is you're a multi billion corporation and it ain't plagiarism when you do it. "Plagiarism is bad" applies only the lowly plebiscite when they do it or accused of doing it.So wait. Why are they using the anime opening? And the same visual style? It smells like lazy, desperate 'plagiarism' to hook the anime fans up.At least they could have made a new cover of the song.

That shot of Faye pulling the knife looks so awkward, same for the shot at 0:43 where she's like posing sexily before pulling out the gun. Like if you showed me those two clips out of context I'd probably guess it was from some action-comedy where the running joke is that her character tries to be slick and sexy but always fails because she's super uncoordinated.
Also I don't know why but it bothers me a little that the netflix logo has the katakana in the middle instead of the English like the original.

Goddamn, the opening just feels so stilted and weightless with all its shots trying to replicate the snappy animation. This is such a shallow homage to the anime and it just feels so tacky, it feels more like something you'd see in an SNL short. The OP was basically just a James Bond opening sequence mixed with other pulpy elements, there's so many ways you could approach this sort of style in a way that'd work for live action

Im beyond confused at this opening.
The showrunner said a couple of weeks ago that the show wasnt going to be a direct adaptation of the anime, as in, not taking any of the plots directly from the original, I even posted it here in the thread, but now the opening is out and a fuck load of the side characters are showing up in it, so what is it?
Hope to god it gets cancelled S1 before they get the chance to ruin anything more. It just looks silly and terrible, good job at turning a respectable character like Gren into a slutty tranny for woke points.

Holy shit it's even worst than I expected. I've seen fanfilms that have better production value and avoid looking like cheap cosplay. This is seriously the best they can do?

These retards don't seem to realize just because something looks cool as animation doesn't mean it will translate well to live action. Or do we need to be reminded of the live action Fist of the North Star?

I am genuinely wondering what the fuck is up with Ed. They haven't shown her in any cast photos and she's not in the opening. It can't be to avoid spoilers, because the two characters you'd absolutely want to avoid showing are Julia and Vicious.
