You would have thought that NA teams would do better in shooter games since they have been nothing but dodging bullets since primary school :smug:
CS was made by an Asian and a US nerd. Now its an EU-dominated game.
Hitler would be proud.
I don't see how a team that went 12-0 CT side on a CT sided map, then goes 0-12 T side, then loses 0-4 T side in OT is an indicator that they're shit. To me it's an indicator that the balance in CS is shit and just getting worse. I have no reason to believe they wouldn't be 4-0 in OT had they started the match T side instead

ZERO wins T side on Mirage. ZERO. WITH OVERTIME ROUNDS. Why isn't that the bigger talking point here?
Or maybe it's MIRAGE, and not the CT-T balancing.

These are the side winrates for the top 10 teams. This game was played on mirage.

To be fair, a Δ of 8% is statistically significant, but the balancing, to me, just seems to come down to team skill. (src hltv)
So you're saying it's not the map?

Your conjecture is as follows.

Team 1 won 12 rounds in a row, with no losses, indicating that they have much superior skills to team 2.

Then team 2 won 16 rounds in a row, with no losses, indicating that team 2 actually has much superior skills to team 1.

And this switch from all loosing to all winning happened at exactly the time where they switched from playing terrorists to counter terrorists.

If team 2 is superior, how could they lose 12 straight rounds? If team 1 is superior, how could they lose 16 straight rounds? And as for the switch from losing to winning coinciding exactly with the switch from T to CT, I guess that was just coincidence?

I'd love for someone to actually calculate the odds of this happening in a fair game.

I'm gonna be honest, I had almost completely forgotten about the Counter-Strike "competitive scene" in recent times, or blissfully blocked it out of my general sphere of knowledge. Probably because I hate what "competitive E-sports" have done to the gaming industry as a whole, and that CS:GO, much like TF2 with its lootcrates, just ended up being a forboding warning we all pleasantly ignored that heavily hinted at what was to come a decade down the line in terms of the enshittification of the hobby in general.

The NA E-sports scene for this game, having gone extinct, with a scarce few remnants wandering around the slowly crumbling CS Empire, isn't too surprising considering Counter Strike's "Golden Age" has been over for almost a decade now. Once that foolishly optimistic push from companies to make 'competitive gaming' into an actually viable career option and a sustainable 'cash cow' for them to profit off had failed around the end of the 2010s, there went the NA competitive side of things. Since most of the actually talented players either left, retired, or went to greener pastures in terms of finding themselves a 'niche' that wouldn't end up with them struggling to pay bills and getting early onset arthritis over a fringe 'sport' that no longer had an established structure to actually help them build or maintain a real 'career' off of, at least here in the States.

Congrats to those German Newgens calling themselves BIG for their win. The European countries of the world need to eke out as many 'wins' as they can get nowadays, in any self-proclaimed sport that they can get their hands on. Though, preferably ones that won't end up with their major cities being burned to the ground by hordes of melinated holigans due to them losing or even winning *cough* Paris *cough*. I do wonder how the CS scene in general will look within another five years, as it really starts to hit its decline. Will it just be a bunch of South American monkeys and Russian mudaks keeping the corpse of modern Counter Strike alive like they do every other dead early to mid 2000s game? Only time will tell, I suppose. Cука блядь!

The DOTA 2 scene would be an example of what a declining CS scene would look like. Gambling sponsors and teams are everywhere to the point of some needing to be renamed due to regulations, i.e. how BetBoom is named BoomBoys, and 1Win is named 1W Team for TI. It would consist of mostly Europeans, Russians, and South Americans. NA is even more of a joke, SEA is barely alive since SEA players stopped playing DOTA and started playing mobile games instead after COVID caused numerous Internet Cafe closures, and China is just the old pros that are still playing, since they are generating no new talent either.

NRG vs BIG, Stage 1 Round 5, Map 3
NRG was up 12-0 at the half, then BIG won 16 rounds in a row to take it to overtime and win. This has never happened before in a major.

Jesus Fucking Christ. At this point just take NA CS out back and shoot it. It's an international embarrassment that for some reason keeps getting millions of dollars pumped into it.
I've had multiple perfectly winnable matches in the last few days in Premier that for some reason without fail my teams' brains get scrambled when there's only a few round wins left. It already makes me feel like punching a hole into a wall, but this? Picrel.

To interrupt everyone's malding over the legendary NRG choke, I recently got reminded of DaZeD while listening to CS slop. Do you think the schizophrenia on his Xitter account (Nitter) would give me enough ammo to be able to make an interesting enough PG thread? Was surprised to see nothing on the site about him when I looked.
I found your post while looking to see if anyone else has noticed his current condition lol. It's been some time since DaZeD has been relevant in CS so I guess that's why he doesn't get talked about.
I actually can't believe what's become of him, looks like that Ashkenazi schizo gene is kicking in bigtime, poor guy.

Team Spirit on choke-watch, they're already down a map against G2 of all teams
EDIT: STEAM AUTHENTICATION ERROR IN A MAJOR, LMAO

THIS GAME IS NEVER GONNA FUCKING END

I am not liking their odds at Vitality if they took this long to dispose G2 kick zont1x for heavyjew PLEASE

Full cockroach team goes back home, Brazil sends its regards
I hope for a Spirit v Furia final, overall it's been an amazing Major so far, every team has played insane and there's been so many godlike plays, it always feels good watching a CS major. Never a boring moment.

dude, what

Dazed was always a bit special but this is just next level

FalleN, send NiKo and his homosexual fuckbuddy back to mudslime hell. If Fagcons wins this, its so fucking over.

Oil blood money wins the major!!
Journokillers crowned champions!!

Reddit and Journos seethe and recoil worldwide!
Fagcons won, yep. This is gonna be the deathknell of CS esports.

If what I've seen from every single eSport that has been dominated by Fagcons sponsored teams (i.e DOTA2, Apex, R6S, ec.), its that those eSports slowly fade away and their popularity falls off the face of the Earth as it basically means whoever buys the biggest money wins the competition. This has been the case for every single physical sport and now eSports has repeated history.

But hey, maybe this is a good thing. Maybe the slow rot of CS esports is enough to kill CS2's popularity. Afterall, Valve aren't interested in fixing the latency issue caused by their retarded subtick solution and they aren't interested in fixing the game for the average joe. And since eSports is the only thing keeping CS2 relevant, this rot could be enough to slowly kill the game's relevancy. Its already happening to DOTA2, may as well let it happen here to.
