Corndogs confound me. I like hot dogs, I like cornbread, but I do not get the appeal of corndogs. I think the texture contrast between the cornmeal and hot dogs turns me off.

If anyone could recommend me a type of dog or something that would be appreciated. As a gluttonous American I would like to incorporate more into my diet.

they're carnival food really. so like they started as a gimmick I guess, the cornmeal and the hotdog are both kinda soft here so they blend well when cooked correctly.

You're doing something wrong.

While the corndogs look like their sticks got toasted, the tots look barely defrosted. Did you put them both into the air fryer at the same time? If so, I might recommend putting the tots in first for 5-7 minutes or more, then adding the dogs.
