Disaster Convicted murderer escapes Winnipeg minimum security healing lodge

The Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) is asking for the public's help in finding a convicted murderer who has escaped from a minimum security healing lodge in Winnipeg.

In a news release, the CSC said that Joyce Kringuk, 42, was last seen around 10:15 p.m. on Boxing Day, leaving through the back door of the Eagle Women's Lodge at 667 Ellice Avenue.

Staff immediately contacted the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS), and a warrant for Kringuk's arrest has been issued.

Kringuk is 4'9" in height and weighs approximately 170 lbs. She has brown eyes, black hair, and has scars on her lower back and the inside of her right bicep.

Kringuk also has a heart tattoo on her left wrist, "Joyce" on her left shoulder, a heart with stars on her right wrist, and the letters "JI" on her right forearm.
She is currently serving a life sentence for second degree murder.

Anyone who has information on her whereabouts is asked to contact police.

The Eagle Women's Healing Lodge and the Correctional Service of Canada said they will investigate the circumstances of this incident and are working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

I have heard of healing lodges but I've never seen one or heard what makes them different from actual jails. In my head I definitely picture a giant circus tent in the woods but I'm sure it's an actual building...

I imagined it more like those Nordic prison islands where you get a little room to yourself and spend your time doing jobs around the island, like chopping wood or gardening. You've been removed from society so you can't be a menace, but you've still got freedom and time now to reflect on what you've done wrong under a watchful eye. To be fair, I think that's a total legitimate and sensible approach in dealing with certain kinds of offenders. I don't think it works everywhere and for everyone but I'm not going to knock a community for trying something other than bundling everyone together in concrete cells filled with low-IQ repeat offenders.

Pretty shitty life. According to this, she was about due for parole: might explain the lodge visit. It also looks likes she's an absolute sped (although evidently still smarter the prison service) which explains why did she did a bunk with parole just around the corner.

The question of "who would win: one retarded gas huffing snow nigger, or the Canadian government?" is not one I thought I would be pondering today, but given the absolute state of Canada these days I'm rooting for the 'tard.

This is so bad it reads like comedy:

After drinking large amounts of rye whiskey and getting into an argument at Kringayark’s cabin in Repulse Bay, Kringayark accused Kringuk of wanting to have sex with her father after Kringuk said she wanted to move back in with her father.

Harte said that after a scuffle, Kringuk grabbed Kringayark’s rifle, and threatened to kill herself.

Kringuk tried to shoot herself with the rifle, but her arms could not reach the trigger when she pointed it at herself.

Kringuk tried again using her feet, but did not complete the suicide attempt.

Kringayark, who had left the cabin when Kringuk attempted suicide, had been indifferent to her suicide attempts, Harte said.

When he returned, Kringuk pointed the gun above Kringayark’s head at close range and said, “Should I just shoot you?”

“Go ahead,” Kringayark said.

That’s when Kringuk lowered the weapon with her eyes closed. When she fired the rifle, the bullet took Kringayark’s head off, leaving just his jaw, and landed in a window frame behind Kringayark.

They're treated with kid gloves by the governments and everyone with a bleeding heart, but I still wouldn't trade places with most of them. I've heard ample stories about reservation life being full of squalor and crime. The ones who get neck-deep in organized crime and build a casino are rolling in the free money, but that's the one percent. The rest of them are living in shitty trailer houses with a rusted-out pickup in the front yard.
