I'm curious what it is about crazies like Connor, Chris, etc, that they feel they HAVE to be parents and they're failures if they don't. Is it because finding a wife and getting married and having 2.5 kids is ultra-normal? Is it because they want fuckmommies? Is it validation for their years of suffering for being autists?

I really don't get it. Having kids has slowly been a downward trend, as more people find fulfillment with their careers, partners, and interests.

I think it's a trifecta of proving your virility (I have a functional penis!), proving your heterosexuality (I totally do sex with ladies!), and massive self-importance (I have so much value that my genes must not be allowed to pass from the earth!), rather than "I want a cute little person to love and teach."

As for Connor, ew. I have no memory of the dude but as someone adopted I find his opinion pretty despicable. Especially since it's all because he jerks it too much.

I can't stand people who trample on or take advantage of other's kindness. I mean, really. No one is obligated to be nice to you and help you; the least you can do is be grateful for their consideration and not throw it back in their face. People like Connor don't deserve that kind of thoughtfulness until grow up and stop taking it for granted.

You know, actions like that are why you're one of favorite Kiwis. No matter how nasty someone is, you try to grace them with kindness like you would anyone else. That sort of dedication to finding the goodness in everyone is quite admirable.

And on a personal note:
I wasn't adopted myself, but my mother was. Even though I'm not technically their grandson, my grandparents have treated me with great kindness that I couldn't expect out of anyone. Also, I have an older half-brother out there somewhere who was adopted. So, fuck Connor's stupid ideas about adoption. I don't care if it's for shock value or for actual belief, anyone who would hate adoption that much and for such selfish reasons earns my enmity.

I'd would much rather adopt a child than have one for reasons I already explained in the Deep Thoughts section of the forums, so yeah...screw his views on adoption.

Also, I never really got into him, but I could see why he was considered lolcow material.

So you were nice to Connor and he reacted towards it as a jerk. Only thing that accomplished was lowering ones opinion of him.
 
Connor has always reminded me of Winston the Cat (of old Rich Juzwiak fame). Ugly, fat, annoying as hell with weird tics... but something worth keeping around simply for the novelty of it. The special interest in Molly Ringwald and the 'novel' writing are typical autistic lolcow traits, but the hilarious overreactions and tantrums would be almost endearing. If not for the chronic masturbation.

The making everything about himself thing is the least desirable thing about Connor, though. Or the least. He's gross. But the fact that he would come into chat and interrupt conversations and baw until someone finally gave in made me want to kick a fucking wall in.
