Rep. Ami Bera of California said on Tuesday that he was the victim of an "unprovoked" attack by a fox outside of the US Capitol on Monday evening.

"I felt something lunge — totally unprovoked — at the back of my leg," the California Democrat told Insider on Tuesday.

Bera said he was taken to Walter Reed Medical Center for treatment and received seven shots.

"Rabies is not something you wanna fool around with," Bera told Insider, adding that in addition to the rabies vaccine series, he recieved shots for tetanus and immunoglobulin.

Capitol Police later captured the critter dubbed by Twitter users as the "Senate fox."

Relocation plans for the fox remained unclear as of Tuesday afternoon.

Before the Senate fox ran around Capitol Hill, the most recent incident involving a wild animal in the nation's capital was back in October 2020, when a raccoon launched a pre-dawn attack against a CNN reporter outside the White House.

Based little guy. Sadly, he'll probably get euthanized.

I overheard on the boomer news network that the congresscritters were all freaking the fuck out like it was 1/6 again, wringing their hands and gnashing their teeth over this fox while it was outside. Sure, it could be carrying rabies - you can't know, but it's just one fox and in the rare chance any one of them would be bitten they know to go get the jabs. A fox bite is not a fucking Walking Dead scenario. These cowards are so sheltered and out of touch that regular people and animals scare the fuck out of them.

I was wondering what kind of Californian politician Ami Bera is -- if he is one of the extra-crazy ones (overwhelmingly D), a careerist swamp critter (D and R), or one of the rare based ones (CA still has a few as much as KF laughs at the idea). What I found:

Wikipedia article

A 57 year old Pajeet who was a medical doctor (MD) and worked at UC Davis School of Medicine (impressive tbh). I am getting a lot of controversial rich Indian-American tomfoolery in his Wikipedia article and controversies related to that. Favorite quote:

"Bera has been described as the "Godfather" of Indian-Americans on Capitol Hill."

My Verdict:

Careerist swamp critter. Doubt he was trying to pet the fox -- probably wants it dead and (if not a self-righteous vegetarian Hindi) to eat it, but will make a sad statement after the fact about poor animals being driven to violence.

More anti-Fox sensationalism from this administration smdh
and your preferred method of information would be?
oh that write you do not have one, it's great calling the bad guy bad isn't it gives a sense of being on the right side of life, but you have no backup plan so what i would call you is basically an idiot.

oh, i forgot you hang around the kiwi farms, you sound like a 62 IQ child that can nearly even grasp the idea of what the future could be or would, in your dumb eyes you see a better world but you forget the reality you live in so leave yourself pitty on the door and welcome to being alive.

pathetic.

Assuming that the fox did actually attack unprovoked (and the congresscritter didn’t corner it or something), it’s getting it’s head sawed off and it’s brain analyzed for rabies
Probably. It's just so wrong for them to tell the public it's being relocated when it's really getting durka durka'd. It's like treating everyone as kids and saying old Spot is going to be sent to live at a farm upstate. Of course, I never would have expected anything better from these habitual liars.
