Its real funny cause people are comparing the design of this game to the The First Descendent and Concord is just getting blown the fuck out of the water.

There's no way Sony thought it was going to sell, even putting aside the annoying Progressive shit its just a bad Overwatch clone, honestly convinced they just pumped it out for BlackRock grants
 
I unfortunately know people who make games like this.
They're all zoomers and late millenials who finished university when Overwatch became a big thing and they're all chasing that.
They're ignoring that early clones like Battleborn and Lawbreakers crashed and burned immediately.
They think microtransactions will make them millionaires and they can finally attract women.
It takes them forever to finish their projects because the trends keep shifting and they can't code for shit.
They're now a decade late to a trend that arguably died before Overwatch 2 came out.

The reason COD is still selling is simply the fact its the only regular military shooter experience left every other FPS now is a hero shooter or some brightly colored garbage, notice how most of the angry gamers nowadays are just disgruntled 7th gen fan boys all you need to do is release a brown, grey, and military shooter every month like its 2007 in order to save the games industry.

I know the indie game scene has finally reached playstation 1 in terms of games now so its only a couple more years before you get 7th gen inspired indie "gems"

The have invested years and billions in it and they will shit these games out whether anyone wants them or not

it's even more mindblowing that brink, basically the proto hero-shooter had a character creator. literally all they'd have to do is offer a few presets, let your players decide whatever they want to look like (gameplay is too much of a clusterfuck for "class identity" anyway) and sell cosmetics. I mean that's literally what TF2 is doing these days, even before blizzard copied it without understanding why it works.

but nah, gonna copy ASSFAGGOTS of all things and double-down on it for years. otoh shouldn't be surprised that modern devs can only chase (dead) trends...
