I'll be honest I could have written that post way better but I'm not drunk right now so I'm pretty much exceptional.

You make very fair points but I was talking about the more practical side of things, rather than theoretical.
All I'm saying is, NT has a better architecture. It doesn't mean Linux is a trainwreck (even if I consider it to be one from my own personal prospective), it's just better designed is all. And I personally really hate dependency package managers.
Anyway lemme just get drunk real quick and I can have a proper discussion on this shit.

So far so good. The iso I downloaded of windows works on my system and serial number, stuff is starting to work.

So this is one of those fancy laptops with a fingerprint scanner and shit. If I don't want to use them what gives any worthwhile result? Disabling it in Device Manage? Uninstalling the driver? Just redo windows?

I just wish that after so many years of begging from fans, they'd make a Linux-compatible itunes! They only sell some songs there, and I hate having to borrow a friend's comp to purchase them. I can usually tech-weasel Linux into running things it's not supposed to, but in the iTunes case, they've so far had me stumped.

iTunes is one of worst programs I've ever used. So bad it made me sell my iPhone 4G back in the day, just so I don't have to deal with that shit anymore.

I have one I got from a buddy who had put somethingorother linux as a separate boot partition type thing so I guess you can. I reinstalled just chrome because I just wanted a simple little gizmo for watching synchtubes and crap on.

I don't use it beyond basic webmail, cytube and taima, but it's done everything I've needed from it without changing the OS.

ITunes is invasive trash. Spotify or Google music if you must, but spare yourself the indignity of dealing with Apple's horrible phone/media/music software.

Sometimes I think about growing older and becoming increasingly out of touch with technology, especially ever since I got my first smart phone and realised I was an utterly knowledgeless end-user like everybody else. Does anyone else get these feels sometimes?

Also here's a story: when I built my first PC over a year ago, I realised I'd have to buy a new OS. Fuck that, I thought, and moved my old craptop HDD into the new case. I booted in and everything was fine, but then I decided to start afresh and wipe everything. In the process I wiped the OEM partition. I didn't know what it was and thought nothing of it. Ever since, Windows 8 nagged me for a serial key I no longer have and I had to get myself some crack thing that 'renews' it every month or so. I also passed up on the chance to migrate to Windows 10 (because telemetry!), which I'm beginning to regret.

When I had my first job, we used a program to wipe everything off phones, and we didn't use iTunes at all. It was a bitch to wipe iPhones, but Android's were so easy to wipe that I can still do it, even though it has been almost seven months since I got the boot.

My boss wasn't an IT person. He was an accountant by trade. We told him there were more efficient ways of doing it, but he insisted we do it with iTunes.
