I've heard some women say they relate to Eric and Dylan's pain and would have liked to be one of their gf to stop the whole thing from happening but I don't really buy that. There's a saying that goes "Women want a bad man who is good just for them and men want a good woman who is bad just for them" and I'm pretty sure the obsession with serial killers partially comes from that, being in a relationship with a literal murderer but being so special to them that they would never be the one getting murdered is an appealing fantasy to them I guess. For the ones in prison, I've heard the idea of imprisoned men being the perfect partners since their environment starves them of affection and being around females which would make them more appreciative and attentive to a partner, that's just the idea though, I'm not sure if it actually works that way and it probably doesn't.
