This might be Bill’s most exceptional response yet:

Wow, that is...something. Aside from his weird inconsistency about incels in there (pro-CG people obviously aren't afraid of being called incels, seeing as it seems to roll off them like water off a duck's back), one thing that this hints at, which is also something I've seen from a lot of other anti-CG people, is that these people seemingly want comics to be created solely for other people in the industry. I forget the name for publications that are only available to people who contribute to them, but do you know what happens to those publications? They're generally thought of as snooty and incestuous for a brief period of time before they're completely forgotten by history. Also, I kind of want somebody posing as an SJW to call him on that body shaming near the end of his autistic rant, but I'm pretty sure his response would be something along the lines of, "It's okay when we do it!"

Writer Brian Michael Bendis has come under fire for his derogatory use of the word “autistic,” as spoken by a villain in Action Comics #1002. Readers and comic journalists, some of whom have or work with autistic children, took to Twitter to criticize Bendis, DC Comics and its editors for the usage of the term.

Bendis has since apologized and explained why he used the term, which was uttered by a villain and not Superman himself. The writer tweeted, “Yeah, it is an insult I can’t stand. It has been said to me directly and I put it in my work to illustrate its ugliness from an ugly character who got his immediate comeuppance.”

I’m a big fan, especially of your Superman stuff so far that I’ve had a chance to read - but unless you’re going to make a specific comment about ableism, the use of the term as an insult is unnecessary and considered hurtful by many

Update on this, since it's been going all day: After interacting with some folks in the thread, @BRIANMBENDIS says he asked editorial to remove the offending remark in future reprints/collected editions. I appreciate his contrition and empathy, which I believe to be genuine.

As a parent of a child with #Autism, I’m disgusted that a comic I was reading and enjoying as part of my weekly assignments at work uses “Autistic” as a derogatory term meant to insult or demean someone’s intelligence. I’m surprised and dismayed the line made it into the book.

This. All the big names in comics didn't just get where they are simply by getting picked up out of nowhere because they had a dick and were white (which is how these morons think it worked). They submitted portfolios and writing samples to the pros, who then gave them small jobs (like writing fill in issues or drawing pin ups) in order to gain experience and learn the tricks of the trade. Todd McFarlane didn't start out getting Spider-Man #1 to himself - he spent the previous decade doing indie titles and fill in work before moving on to the plum gig of drawing Spider-Man. After the success of creating Venom, then Marvel gave him his own title.

Nowadays, these morons grab someone off of Twitter with zero experience or skills, simply because they resemble the character or because they fill out a line in the diversity bingo card. Then the book flops because they can't write or draw to save their lives.

Well, you see these guys out of their resumes and superficially they seem like a good shot. Many comic artists/writers back in the day used to see comics only as a step to get bigger things, temporal at best. Right now, it seems as a degree in communication is the very bottom of the ladder, and these poor motherfuckers do what they can.
Their view was forged in art schools and provided by teachers that were free of consequences. I can almost feel some degree of pity, even empathy, but....

This reminds me I want to start my own genocide. None of us are exempt of sin here, but the vile of theirs is what they truly fear.

There's also another underlying subtext to a lot of these anti-CG people that, under the guise of "supporting creators" and "comics are a family," that minorities are (or at least should be) fine with being handed absolute fucking garbage prostrating as entertainment - usually because the two or three people within their in-group gave it the okay due to treating these characters as vanity project. It's why they can never seem o touch on the actual quality of the creators in question when trying to defend their place in the industry. Hell, I highly doubt that Sienkiewicz, or anyone anti-CG for that matter, has even read the usual suspects people think of when talking about nepotistic diversity/pity hires like Leth, Henderson, Rivera, Cain, etc. and completely ignores the hipster white guys like Ryan North, Mark Waid, or Bendis that are often cited as being part of the problem. Deep down they must know that "Squirrel Girl/America/Gay Ice Man/Hellcat is actually a good comic made by top-notch talent" is an indefensible position, otherwise they wouldn't default to throwing around accusations of sexism/bigotry.

It kinda reminds me of how the elitist circles currently plaguing fine art disappeared up their own asshole because all their work is ugly and lazy-looking and is made by people with art degrees, for people with art degrees so that they can scoff at the average joe for not immediately recognizing that this piece is so obviously about capitalistic toxic masculinity by paying homage to Klein, Warhol, and post WW-1 art by slapping togehter a pile of scrap metal painted blue with Campell soup cans thrown on it. Except with comics you gotta put a story on top of the junk heap so you also get 24 pages of dialogue telling you how obvious it is.
