So, renfamous says they booked under a false name while Malin says they did as they're told by c2e2 but then c2e2 turned around and said that's the wrong thing to do.
Now, if both of them are correct and Shane Davis was the one communicating with c2e2, that means outside of Shane Davis, either EVS or Malin (or both) are persona non grata to c2e2. They were fine with Shane carrying other people until they found out it's EVS and Malin and once they did, they thought that EVS and Malin knew that they would not be welcome and tried to use Shane as a front. Unless of course EVS and Malin was upfront with c2e2 that they're going to be there.

I am not saying they wouldn't let him go, rather that the purpose of going would be moot. No one that goes to a anime con is interested in comic books for 45+ year old men. Bill Clinton jokes and single mom stories aren't what kids like these days. Let alone the almost-snuff books Malin puts out. The only property that would have any draw would be Starlight Cats.
I searched thru all the guests to see if there was one these guys have actually harassed and there was one.

Matsuri might be happy to have them since they seemed to be hurting for guests. But EVS/Malin/Shane being there to sell their stuff might be out of place. At the same time, maybe it's better now and Matsuri might not need just anyone...?
Using FNT as an example...If I recall, while I think the Matsuri thing was a success for them. I don't think they enjoyed it there that much which is why they didn't come back last year. Outside of anime that normies watch, they aren't really into anime (Ivan from G&G would be one to enjoy it there though; assuming he's even still with them). But at the same time, Matsuri wanted bodies to show up so that's why they opened it up to YouTubers that don't even really talk about anime. But who knows. EJ has mentioned he wants to do more conventions. So, I suppose it's possible he might return this year. But same with EVS and others, he'd probably be out of place selling his stuff there.
That really is the question of the day. It's not unheard of for smaller artists and whatnot to share a table at these things because tables can be pricey. But did C2E2 allow it? Based off a prior post, according to Shane, it sounds like they were approved for it. But I have yet to see any emails showing why they were cancelled or Shane getting approval. Everything so far is "trust us."
They won't do it because it'd actually cost them some money and they don't want to be embarrassed if nobody shows up. But they should just rent out a space or bar nearby and do their thing there.

I agree.
This smells funny. Like it's engineered to generate outrage and donations from the paypigs.
Also, if they were dropped for subletting the both, that is a politically neutral decision. You're normally not allowed to do that at most conventions. I would have also drop kicked them if I were the exhibit hall head. It deprives the convention of revenue.
It's weird to me they were fine with Shane, and Shane's company, but not EVS or Malin. Sure, that could mean they really don't like EVS and Malin, but it also supports the subletting theory.
They are so predictable. I didn't even see this before I posted Mark as a guest earlier. They still didn't show the actual email sent, so harassment yes is a policy but it remains to be seen if there is truly any connection between it and their alleged banning.
