Illis quibus Linguam Latinam volunt discere, has res utimini (To those who wish to learn Latin, start with these resources)
• Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata: Familia Romana (book/librum)
• Latin Bible
• Legentibus (Applicatio telephonica)
• Scorpiomartianus (Canalis YouTube)
[This section in English for ease of access for those curious and interested]
The above mentioned resources are my personal recommendations. Very accessible, interesting, and informative.
LLPSI is probably one of the best sources for beginners in my honest opinion. The whole textbook is pure Latin but accessible to anyone who is familiar with a Western European language.
The Latin Bible is good to study because very many people are familiar with bibles in their modern languages. That familiarity helps catch on to the Latin, though it can be a challenge without a proper foundation. Which segues into the next recommendation.
Legentibus is an app that allows for reading Latin works and quick access to a translation via the click of a button. There is a paywall for the majority of things, but I just use the free shit they provide.
Lastly: Scorpiomartianus is one of a few YouTube channels owned and operated by Luke Ranieri, arguably one of the best Latin speakers alive tbh. He has just the right amount of autism to be a reliable source for learning and imitation. He has streams on this channel where he speaks basic Latin the entire time and it’s a great help.
He also has a bunch of other videos on a channel called Polymathy where he covers the intricacies of the Latin Language. Just be warned: he is kinda full of himself here and there and is autistically precise and picky in some of his videos but tbh he can afford to be. He has the most informative videos on Latin I can think of.
