It is truly amazing that Indiana won. For decades I have been making jokes at family like "Indiana has a football team?" or "Who did you beat this week? St. Agnes of the Blind?". I talked to them all tonight and they have no response, just pure shock that it actually happened.

They're going to make a movie about Indiana or Mendoza. Cause their story this year was a underdog one, with there team being fillled with several 2 and 3 stars and Mendoza rising from a low ranking too.
Surely they will omit that half the starters transferred in with the coach and didn't give a fuck about the school. Guess you omit that from all modern sports stories now, don't you.

But thanks again for running this bro, was fun as fuck.
No problem. If there's anything you or anyone else want tweaked or changed, lemme know and I'll look into it.

Ah, the "Moneyball" special. Make a feel-good story and omit glaring facts for the nonsports and casual fans to not look up.

I had no idea a college football thread was even a thing. anyways, that was a pretty enjoyable game, my only real hope was indiana winning because of the optics of a perfect season and the story of mendoza's mom. Miami was much closer to a win that i would have ever thought.

They were low star rankings but Cignetti got them after they had already proven to beat the odds of their own rankings after the fact. This isn't the same as Cig getting a roster of overlooked 2 and 3 stars and developing them into superstars. It's more like buying the winning powerball ticket after the winning numbers were already announced. It's still impressive but I would not say it is 'underdog' necessarily.

Damn you @Piss Jugman for taking my midplace finish. I feel just like the Lions and Vikings, finishing above 500 but still having a shitty season

I would have said include moneylines for the games but with how many are out there, doesn't make sense

Enjoy the meme. This will be Mendoza's first night in Vegas after going number 1

With this win, Indiana has now joined 10 other schools who have won championships in both college basketball and football. The others (for your fun little trivia you can pull on others) are

-Michigan (they won in the 90s before they cheated with Harbaugh)
-Florida (they won both in the same year)
-Michigan State
-Ohio State
-UCLA (won their football early on)
-Maryland
-Syracuse (only 1 basketball title despite being a basketball school)
-Cal (fucking hippies)
-Arkansas (how?)
-Stanford

I think there are a few teams that can come on this list through Basketball. Nebraska, Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia are all currently ranked in the top 25
