So in burning anticipation of the new Coheed & Cambria album launching in a week, I have ask my fellow kiwis:

Are you one among the fence? Do you have a album you love/hate? Do you hate them? If so, why do you hate them?
 
Coheed and Cambria, there's a band I haven't heard in a long-ass time.

There's two songs I've heard from them, and they're aight I guess. I might give the new album a chance if it does well.
 
I had a friend that was really into them, so I've heard some of their stuff around 2007 or so. I thought it was good, but didn't grab me enough to buy an album.

I was really getting into Iced Earth and Bathory at the time and was more interested in just that then, though, so I'll give Coheed a listen again. It helps when I don't have to buy/pirate as much as I did back then.
 
I don't own any Coheed and Cambria (and I don't know why, tbh), but I fuckin' love the few songs I've heard. I really need to fix this situation. "Welcome Home" is pretty fucking sick.
 
I revisited them recently after a long break. The new stuff hits different but still amazing. But their early work just shreds me. I hadn't realized how many of my memories of a great time period in my life were hardwired in my skull to these tunes. God I miss the world before 2015.
 
I'm not much likintg the new album. It's backsliding into chick rock territory and I'm not happy 'bout it.
The new Porcupine Tree album is based tho.
 
New album is coming out within a day, so I have decided to resurrect this thread to discuss it. The singles we have gotten so far are pretty good, my favorite is searching for tomorrow:

Has anybody else listen to the singles that came out?
 
Anyone listen to the new Key Entity Extraction songs that were just released 5 days ago? I've been digging them so far!

Old reply, but the one C&C album I ever listened to was Black Rainbow so I guess this is maybe a sign that they're worth another look.
