Day 229 - There are ultimately only two possible adjustments to life; one is to suit our lives to principles; the other is to suit principles to our lives. If we do not live as we think, we soon begin to think as we live. The method of adjusting moral principles to the way men live is just a perversion of the order of things.

When man was expelled from the Garden of Eden, was he reverting to a natural state (i.e Losing the luxuries of the Garden, something he gained/earned but ultimately ending no worse off than the baseline) or was he "downgrading" to a lesser state (Losing something he already had and thus ending up worse off)?

The latter would be a more accurate statement. Man had everlasting life and perfect relationship with God from the creation of the world, and lost it after Adam and Eve sinned.

Day 231 - God is a consuming fire; our desire for God must include a willingness to have the chaff burned from our intellect and the weeds of our sinful will purged. The very fear souls have of surrendering themselves to the Lord with a cross is an evidence of their instinctive belief in His Holiness. Because God is fire, we cannot escape Him, whether we draw near for conversion or flee from aversion: in either case, He affects us. If we accept His love, its fires will illumine and warm us; if we reject Him, they will still burn on in us in frustration and remorse.

There are interpretations that Adam was meant to be the first priest and be the first spiritual leader for humanity, but because of his actions he was banished from the Garden of Eden. Therefore, it lines up with the latter part.

My current favorite part of the Bible is Elijah in 1 Kings. Just felt like Elijah a while back and reading it again helped me come to a realization. In times of stress or depression, the Lord will be there to comfort you with rest and food as you prepare for your next journey. And that’s all I really needed at that time.
 
I have a theory (though this part of the post isn't 100% Biblically confirmed) that the New Jerusalem, due to the size it is as described in the New Testament, would probably be in the middle of Asia, given a lot of the flat land in that part of the world as well and size of the continent, not that the area will look exactly the same when the earth is redone by God after the Millennium:

I also believe the river of life emanating from God's throne in the New Jerusalem will be going through where the river in the Garden of Eden used to be, given the precious stones described on Heaven's walls in Revelation (see below) as well as the following verse – Ezekiel 28:13 - Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Revelation 21:19-20 - And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

Day 235 - The evil in this world must not make me doubt the existence of God. There could be no evil if there were no God. Before there can be a hole in a uniform, there must be a uniform; before there is error, there must be truth; before there is crime, there must be liberty and law; before there is a war, there must be a peace; before there is a devil, there must be a God, rebellion against whom made the devil.

Day 236 - Why did Our Blessed Lord use bread and wine as the elements of this Memorial? First of all, because no two substances in nature better symbolize unity than bread and wine. As bread is made from a multiplicity of grains of wheat, and wine is made from a multiplicity of grapes, so the many who believe are one in Christ. Second, no two substances in nature have to suffer more to become what they are than bread and wine. Wheat has to pass through the rigors of winter, be ground underneath the Calvary of a mill, and then subjected to purging fire before it can become bread. Grapes in their turn must be subjected to the Gethsemane of a wine press and have their life crushed from them to become wine. Thus, do they symbolize the Passion and Sufferings of Christ, and the condition of Salvation, for Our Lord said unless we die to ourselves we cannot live in Him.

Fermentation is the common element. Beware the leaven of the pharisees.

Fermentation is the slow transformation of a thing into its most useful form after an initial inculcation of a small but living starter.

Day 237 - The nearer Christ comes to a heart, the more it becomes conscious of its guilt; it will then either ask for his mercy and find peace, or else it will turn against Him because it is not yet ready to give up its sinfulness. Thus He will separate the good from the bad, the wheat from the chaff. Man's reaction to this Divine Presence will be the test: either it will call out all the opposition of egotistic natures, or else galvanize them into a regeneration and a resurrection.

Angel's technical count, if you consider "aliens" as other intelligent life forms not from this world. If you counts aliens like something out of E.T. then no.

Add on the fact that alot of angels don't have a humanoid appearance, and thier descriptions would be called nothing but "alien".

I find it interesting that people with no theological background or interest have frequently relayed DMT experiences with various deities, including figures unfamiliar to them, e.g., Buddha, Ganesh, Krishna, biblically accurate angels, Ezekiel's thrones, etc.

Social consciousness. The ideas of religion are baked into the human psyche no matter how much an individual may be detached from those ideas.
