Christian theology thread for Christians - Deus homo factus est naturam erante, mundus renovatus est a Christo regnante

I'll read it in a bit, and either DM you or write a message on your profile since I don't want to completely derail this thread.

Although I won't lie, this Heading/Meme is probably not a good start for an Honest Criticism of Thomism

Edit: I thought I recognized the name of the guy, is this Jay Dyer's priest?
I think its Dyers Deacon that he streams with. Thankfully hes a lot nicer than Dyer is, however.

Edit: also that was my attempt to actually get this thread on topic not to derail. Theology in the theology thread.

The Wisdom of Bl. Fulton Sheen

Day 150 - A mirror is silent, yet it reflects forests, sunsets, flowers, and faces. Great ascetic souls, given to years of meditation, have taken on a radiance and a beauty which are beyond the outlines of faces. They seem to reflect, like the mirror on the outside, the Christ they bear within.

I know this is a Theology thread, but can you gentlemen please keep a Sister in Christ and her family in prayer please? She suffered two heart attacks and a stroke a couple of days and it doesn't look good for her at all. Her kids are really going through a rough time at the moment. Thanks.

Day 151 - Humility is not underestimating oneself, such as the talented singer denying he can sing. Humility is truth, or seeing ourselves as we really are-not as we think we are, nor as the public believes us to be, or as our press notices us.

Random thought I decided to share here, but I'm thinking about trying to limit to only viewing this thread and consuming Catholic/Christian only content on Sundays to further my relationship with God. I just feel I waste too much of my time on Sunday browsing other threads here and just losing track of time that should be Gods.

Always has been, there are few worse experiences than interacting with people who are completely (and smugly) convinced they are right about everything with no room for interpretation. It seems to follow a pride in academic rigor, so its mainly a Catholic/Protestant problem (speaking as a Prot) , Orthos have their own issues but theyre a different flavor from what ive seen

who the hell wants to prooftext arguments and then end up in a "we have different starting points" stalement. the only worthwhile ecumenism is charity work.

orthodox arguments depends on who's debating. if protestents are debating you'll get arguments for catholic theology (bcuz same but greek lel) and if its a catholic you'll get "um logically speaking akshully" because no knows really understand apophatic theology.

the new refomers are the worst because they want you to cede to a cold worldview and then complain about the lack of empathy when you take it to its ultimate conclusion ("actually, God hates you").

Day 153 - The modern tendency is toward the affirmation of the ego, the exaltation of selfishness, riding roughshod over others in order to satisfy our own self-centeredness. It certainly has not produced much happiness, for the more the ego asserts itself, the more miserable it becomes.

Does the Bible really show God as being a misogynist?

https://youtube.com/watch?v=knvz8zd_ev8
Don't listen to these people. They cry misogynist while A.) Ignoring the times that the Bible was set, and B.) Ignore the Theotokos' sinlessness and call her a whore. These same people ignore the type of slavery that took place at that time (hint: not chattel slavery), and turn a blind eye to the ongoing Islamic slavers that exsist to this day.

They just want to hate Christians cause ultimately it forces you to look at yourself, kill your ego, and serve others.

Day 157 - Proud people think themselves better than they are, and when criticized always believe their neighbor is jealous or has a grudge against them. The humble know themselves as they really are, for they judge themselves as they judge time, by a standard outside themselves, namely, God and His Moral Law.

How is she doing now?
