🐱 Chris Wallace embarrasses Trump in must see interview

President Trump is clearly no fan of Fox News host Chris Wallace, having called him a “wannabe” who is “nasty and obnoxious” and “will never be his father.”

This latest interview isn’t helping.

The two went at it on Fox News Sunday over the recent surge in coronavirus cases, mask-wearing, tearing down statues, and, of course, Joe Biden.

In one particularly odd moment, they tangled over the president’s cognitive tests. Trump recently boasted that he “aced” the test. “They said, ‘that’s an unbelievable thing. Rarely does anybody do what you just did,’ Trump said on Fox News last week. “But [Biden] should take that same test.”

Wallace, making the point that “it’s not the hardest test,” highlighted one of the questions, which asks the test-taker to identify a picture of an elephant.

Then, when Wallace showed Trump a Fox News poll that found more Americans feel Biden is the most mentally fit of the two candidates, Trump issued a challenge. “Let’s take a test right now,” he said. “Let’s go down, Joe and I will take a test. Let him take the same test that I took.”

In another testy exchange, Wallace challenged Trump over his claims that Biden has called for defunding the police. The president asked one of is staff to bring him proof, but after flipping through the document that was brought to him, Wallace said he wasn’t able to provide it.

Here’s a roundup of highlights from the interview:

So who ultimately got the better of the exchange? Wallace certainly received plenty of love from the blue checkmark crowd on Twitter.
On the flip side, Wallace was the villain, according to the low IQ MAGA crew.

“Embarrassed” is a strong word.
You think Fox News pulled a CBS where they tried to edit out long statements by Trump to take him out of context, while only putting out 5 minute interviews like this?

Not saying that Trump is a perfect person, but I’d like to see more of this interview than just short, edited clips that will be then used to try to guilt trip Trump’s own supporters and cheat out anti-Trump critics for some good click-bait like content.

Chris Wallace is a registered democrat if I remember correctly and I usually don't trust journalists to keep their biases out of their questions these days.

And to be fair, If I see Sean Hannity interviewing Trump, I know its a puff piece and he didn't do good enough in the last interview with Hannity a while ago.

I am all for at this rate having Tucker interview Trump given how Fox News doesn't give much of a fuck if Trump loses as they are already shifting towards neoliberalism.

Obama had Jon Stewart interview him and no one cared.

Wallace is a hack, but Trump made mistakes in the interview and got himself caught in retarded traps, especially on coronavirus, while missing softballs. The question about how crime is up in majority minority Demcorat-run cities and what Trump intends to do about it had Trump missed an easy shot. The linguistic tricks to claim that shifting money away from the police to put it elsewhere isn't defunding it or that Universities don't lean colossally to the left and teach criticism of the USA given how 80+% of faculties are leftist are retarded and Wallace knows he's lying when he pushes them.

This is exactly what happens when your ID is solely embedded in your ego as per Freud.

Just because the left is trying to spin Trump into Satanic Hitler Plague Lord doesn't mean you have to jump on the worship train. You can even support him in an election but still have issues with aspects of his leadership.

The primary reason to vote for Trump was that he was not Hillary and now it is that he is not Biden.

I think he has done some good things and I think he has done some dumb things. I do maintain that a great deal of the criticism he receives is not for things he has actually said or done. It is for things the MSM has claimed he said or did.

Watching Hannity interview Trump is like watching someone's dog licking their feet.

Jon Stewart was whatever. Anyone Obama gave an interview to was a party man so to speak. I think the only exception was Brett Baier.

I have always had a low opinion of Sean Hannity lol even with the interview with the black dad whose son was killed in CHAZ. He kept bringing up Chicago and the other black man with him, figured out what Sean was trying to do but surprisingly played it smooth as some news coverage is better than no news coverage.

Jon Stewart was popular as he was the only media icon willing to challenge Obama to some extent as the rest did lick his boots. Fox News back then was the equivalent of what CNN and MSNBC is now regards to Trump and were just boring bullshit.

I find it strange though that FOX News would set him up with Chris Wallace and not some party man to interview him like Hannity though. Maybe others are right that FOX News is only supporting Trump out of loyalty to the GOP neocons and Trump gives them something over nothing.

Obama is also a better speaker and listener than Trump though to be fair and know how to deal with these journalists. Trump's strengths are always his rallies, twitter shitposts, debates and speeches as well as doing some action. Nobody cared about Trump's interviews in 2016.

There's no shortage of Trump criticism on all social media and all major TV stations from the top down. Fox gets treated as being pro-Trump apparatchiks but they spent 2015 and early 2016 trying to sink him and their polls have consistently under-represented his support. It's just that when compared to the 92% negative coverage from all other major outlets, their 52% negative coverage is small potatoes. Being a neocon outlet, they support Trump when he backs war, deregulation and corporate tax reduction, give lip service to immigration occasionally and push culture war issues for clicks. People like Ingraham and Hannity turn on a dime on whether they like Bolton or not. It's only Tucker who has some kind of consistent editorial viewpoint.
There's been more than a few watching and noting that Fox seems to be drifting left of late.

As for what people brought up about criticism - we can get that literally anywhere else. If Trump is getting interviewed by someone like Fox, I'd much rather they challenge him on something actually novel which other stations haven't covered.

I'm also extremely exhausted that every damn headline about Trump seems to give his freaking mood and never any substance - only using a direct quote when it can be taken out of context and implied to be something it's not. Like the entire news media has been reduced to a bunch of gossiping teenage girls.

It really isn't hard to embarrass Trump. I mean, the man does it himself about five times a day.
He has embarrassed himself to such a point, its more funny to look at him than the late night talk show hosts and cable news networks. Its easy to mock Bush because he wasn't trying to be a fool intentionally. Trump on the other hand.....

I believe the best media strategy to combat Trump would have been to ignore all the crazy shit and concentrate on his actions and broken promises.

Edit: here is the interview.

We need a poll for how do we rate the interview with 3 options:

Good.
Bad.
Still Voting Trump after all the shit he has done.
