Real schizophrenics do the opposite of what Chris does.
Real schizos inadvertantly, compulsively show that they're really hearing voices- they carry out weird half-conversations with nobody. They twitch and look around the room for the source of the voices. They're genuinely confused about whether the last thing they heard was a real person talking, which everyone else hears too, or one of the voices, which only they can hear. They aren't putting on a show- they're genuinely dealing with fucky, faulty sensory input. And real schizos are almost always paranoid/smart enough to not broadcast "Hey!! I got these special voices in my head that no-one else hears!!" That fact only becomes known because its evident from how they act.
Chris does the opposite. He's never confused about if others hear his supposed conversations with Magichan- he automatically tells people "Magichan said this, Magichan said that" because he knows there's zero possibility that anyone else hears what Magichan says (because Chris doesn't even hear what Magichan says). And he constantly screams from the rooftops "I talk to fictional cartoon characters!!" (in contrast to the paranoia and secrecy of real schizophrenics). Chris shows zero signs of any real issues with his sensory input- He's just extremely over-invested in fantasy.
Chris's imaginary characters only ever do 100% what Chris wants, they only ever 100% feed Chris's ego, and act 100% on Chris's terms. Real schizos are the opposite- the schizophrenic lives at the mercy of their voices, and the voices are often complete assholes to them. The voices show up at inopportune times, and say shit the schizophrenic doesn't want to hear. Chris never ever ever has any conflict with his imaginary characters.
Chris is just like a kid who hides from their shitty reality by making up a re-assuring fantasy world where they're the super-popular, super-powerful, universally loved King of Everything. His similarities to real schizophrenics are barely even surface-deep.
