Pain tolerance doesn't really mean much in a fight. If someone punches you in the center of the chest, you may not feel the pain but it'll still be a shock to the system if it was a strong enough blow. Also, a tolerance for pain doesn't mean you won't get knocked out by a solid punch in the face.
With these factors in mind? Chris wouldn't fair well at all. He not only has poor coordination, probably has very little experience in fighting or any sort of self defense technique, but he's also extremely weak because of muscular atrophy.
