I was actually in a kind of similar situation. I had the highest merit in my class and top % in the country, could attend any civil engineering education I wanted (in my country the only deciding factor is merit / GPA). Chose to attend a university in a close town, the education was civil engineer - Computer Science. Quickly saw the state of modern universities, full of hardcore leftists, immigrants, and my immediate assignment was to make something related to climate change. That fact, alongside deciding that I don't want to compete in a global market for employment, led to my decision to drop out very quickly. I didn't end up shooting a prominent political figure in my country though, so somewhere the equation might be a bit different.i have not seen something that extreme, going from a 4.0 to dropping after a semester?. Did he had a job?
