So, chap-hop is an interesting gimmick microgenre. Basically, it's hip-hop where the rappers pretend to be Victorian British gentlemen and rap about Victorian themes.
There are three main feudatories in the chap-hop game. Chap-hop is driven by a feud between Mister B the Gentleman Rhymer, who has arguably the broadest subject matter, and Professor Elemental, who plays a character and mostly raps about that character. Attached is Professor Elemental's riposte to Mr B, and Mr B's famous chap-hop anthem. (He also did one about shitting on the toilet.)

Additionally, there is Sir Reginald Pikedevant Esquire, who falls into the genre in the sense of his gentlemanly aesthetic, but is actually quite diverse in his musical style.
(Yes, I love Sir Reginald.)

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Ughubug, that's hella gay." Well, you'd be right. So what?

ngl I enjoy a good gimmick genre based on old-timey stuff. Chap Hop seems to fit right in with the likes of Bardcore and Electro Swing.
