See, this is what I mean when I say Todd’s pop song reviews typically aren’t built with longevity in mind. His latest review also goes to show just how out of touch he is with the current popular music landscape—of all the songs right now he can do a topical review on, he chooses…a fluke country “hit” that was on Billboard for a single week from an artist at least 20 years past his prime?

Look, Todd, I get being burnt out on today’s music, especially if you’re a reviewer who’s been covering it as a profession for over a decade now. Hell, even I usually turn to stuff from the past these days. But dude, you don’t have to pretend like you’ve been following the charts closely when you’ve got two other shows that are (for the most part) timeless and designed for multiple viewings. Just focus on those instead.

PushingUpRoses' mental health videos didn't do so well. What a shocker. People who subscribed to her channel to see her talk about TV shows weren't interested in her talking about her mental health. You have to know your audience and how they might react to something. https://twitter.com/PushinUpRoses/status/1422658202726973443

Listening to her "Ugly" BDD video, and can't help thinking she was right when she was younger: she would look a lot better if she lost weight and exercised. She keeps saying she doesn't realize how truly beautiful she is because of "distorted thinking and flawed visual processing with BDD." She can't believe compliments telling her how she's "so pretty," like she's a supermodel who just can't see herself the way the rest of the world does. But it sounds like her eyes are seeing the same image of herself the rest of us are. Those complimenting friends do sound like they're being overly kind.

Is this just a Millennial/Gen Z thing that a basic, accurate self assessment can't possibly be true, because they have to believe themselves to be uncritically perfect? It feels like she actually has a mental illness where every potential flaw is denied and the blame has to be shifted externally. Is everybody like this now, or is this just a TGWTG lolcow phenomena?

I'm sick of media personalities feeling the need to constantly talk about their mental health. We're all depressed/anxious/autistic/ocd/whatever these days, either take your meds or go to therapy or quit your "job" and get a real one. Nobody cares about your struggles, it's all just more weird parasocial relationship garbage designed to guilt followers into becoming paypigs or excuse the creators' poor work ethics or look the other way when the creators say something problematic.

I think there has to be a balance with communicating stuff to your audience. If there's underlying issues preventing the creation of content then that's fine to cover, but if that's all the content you end up putting out no one's going to stay around for that.

Here’s the thing: of his Top 10 most popular videos on his channel, 8 are his year end lists (and those make up the ONLY videos to break a million views), 1 is a Mike Posner review for “I took a pill in Ibiza” and one is a Trainwreckords for Oasis. So as much as we complain about it, I’d say he pretty much HAS to keep doing pop reviews since that’s the big moneymaker. As for just doing the worst and best lists…would that really be sustainable?

Doug is living rent free in their heads. Just let him go man, im sure he doesn't think about your ugly mug as much as you think about him.
Apparently the myriad clips of Chris talking about how much he genuinely enjoys Doug's work and actually respects his ability to consistently make content means nothing as well. Just laugh at yourself and the character you may be using from time to time. You're not the most sacred of things in the world. No one is.

Or I don't know just flip the fuck out because some goofy Irishman can do an impression of you.

It's kind of funny how before these idiots had meltdowns, Doug seemed to be the one with the giant ego (I mean he did but it crashed and burned), and now all these people have huge egos that making jokes about them is an evil hate crime.

Lmao, Film Brain.

Ralphthemoviemaker said he hated Film Brain in his review of the movies and apparently FB got mega butthurt about it. You'd think a dorky autist with a faggy voice would have learned to take at least casual criticism without having a strop.

That man became humble and learned from his failure and arrogance, They sadly did not.

Fat tattooed girl who plays retro games. In short LGRs fantasy bitch.
Considering she and LGR have done videos together there was a time when I thought that might've been the case. Funny thing is Clint has become more clean cut while on camera and not so much for PUR. I still remember when Clint looked like a weird hedge wizard who popped out to make reviews about Sims and other old PC shit.
