I feel like with an ever growing tech debt thread, you at least deserve a pick-me-up on the recent changes that have been great.

Honestly the new highlights system is much better, especially on mobile. Hats off to the cool forum stuff yall workin on.

I do like the changes because it shows Null hasn’t given up on the website despite everything thrown at him. The constancy &/or consistency of the website is why I keep coming back.

And he makes the worst/best kinds of people seethe. Null will be around until he is just a floating brain in a jar, subsisting purely off of liquid cheese, to call you a ‘nigger’ until judgement day.

I like that the highlight buttons at the top and bottom will work for posts on the same page now. You are always near some highlight navigation, and you won't skip a post accidentally.

Have you figured out the new sticker dopamine trick?

i really liked the decision for the highlight buttons to include the same page
and that they are also on the bottom now so i dont have to scroll to the top

I like that I can nominate a post for highlights. I don't really understand how highlights work when some hl posts have like 20 reactions and some have 200. So doing a vote system is kind of cool IMO.

Also, I mentioned it on the mati thread, but I love that the spoilered posts don't bounce back when you scroll or hit the next page button (mobile problem).

The highlighting system is the same as before
every 5 pages the system checks each post to and compares how much stickers it received to a few posts before and after it, if it's significantly more than those, the post is highlighted

what you have access to is a postmark system, which is basically manual highlighting that jannies (and soon the new KF subscription users) have access to, T&H can report any post so that a janny might check it and then maybe postmark it

I don’t agree with the mobile part purely because I hit the middle button more often than not but that might be because my screen’s small.
