Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry
I admittedly haven't seen the new show but I thought it was funny and kinda lazy how she has such similar teeth to Timmy's. That alone makes her kinda resemble him when character designs in Fairly Oddparents in general were all over the place.
Chloe from the show had unique teeth too. It's just a common trait in show. I watched the sequel/reboot and it was really good! Not perfect but considering other projects related to the franchise it was a breath of fresh air.
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the whole absent parent requirement with a black character possibly being seen as stereotypical. It seems like the kind of thing that would upset cartoonfags.

Agreeing that there are opinions starkly different from yours is somehow grounds for extremist, harmful thoughts to take root. We cannot have that in this day and age. Join the Granfalloon of Correctness or stay the heck away, chudderino.
The cartoon reviewing community is dogpiling on A.S.K. Air for saying the main girl in the Fairly oddparents is basically just a race-swapped timmy and ranting about "WOOOOWWWWWW RACISSSSMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!" And going on their usual excrement about how the cartoons were racist and it was good people like Mike Henry and Alison Brie stepped down from their roles and made a deal over this cause..........they're just programmed to do it. Saying he didn't see characters like cyborg, static shock, and gerald from hey arnold as characters to like SPECIFICALLY cause they're black, he just liked them for being well written characters also got a bitchfit from them, because....predictable answer. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ekuoVmcgDBA
The video wasn’t that great but I’ve gotten reccomended like 6 responses already, I haven’t counted but there’s probably even more. The bandwagon is a result of people just getting bored from what it seems and so they just decided to just go for the most low hanging fruit in terms of bad videos they could make fun of for easy content
Yeah, except now he doesn’t have people like LioConvoy to defend him. Also this time he DFE’d so it would mean more if he came back now. Plus, if you’ve seen the Senate’s Rosa Rey Ramsey call, you’d know Misanthro was one of the main speakers in it who derailed it to slap fight with her about Star Wars (in fact that was part of what started the whole ordeal) so that’s yet another mark on his record. He’s been teasing this big “response to the hatebase” video for years now but it doesn’t seem even a bit closer to coming out. So I guess that’s what he’s working on for his big comeback.
Here’s the Rosa call, go to 2:13:54 for the part with Misanthro and Rosa arguing
There’s a bunch of videos on this call btw it got a lot of backlash and the situation behind it is such an actual mess
A sad dilemma, since I don't think workers should be put into those conditions, but most union companies eventually turn into the same nepotistic circlejerks they are meant to fight against, only their quality output goes to shit too
Imagine getting hurt feelings because an animator dares to have a sign up asking for silence and to be left alone to work on stop-motion because it requires absolute concentration to set up for every single frame.
Reminder that LAIKA post-Coraline have made less money with each release of a new movie. Kubo and Missing Link both underperformed and flopped at the box office. If Wildwood ends up being another financial disappointment, people will speculate that LAIKA be bought out by another company. Some fans talked about it since Kubo came out.
Unsafe working conditions, firing full-time employees to rehire them as temps with no benefits, dismissing disability claims, and violating the NLRA according to the screenshots. I'd like to know what the "unsafe conditions" were at Laika, because on the one hand it could be a legitimate problem that isn't being addressed (and the firing/rehiring to avoid paying benefits is shitty as hell) but I've been on the Internet long enough to know it COULD be whiny art fags just looking for reasons to complain. I can't tell from what's been released yet, and I want to support Laika, but I don't want to support genuinely bad conditions for artists.
But whatabout(ism) my wholesomechungus workplace where I can waste working hours doing nothingburger? (sarcasm)
I confess I have a lot of admiration for independent animators, being someone who would love to learn how to draw myself but I can't see getting good at it whatsoever. For those who wish to work & be professional about it, this truly seems like a crossfire that is irritating - ranging from personal "politics" (alphabet soup & retarded dipshits) & cancerous libshits being irritating all the way to unions being cancer to your treatment of working hours.
