I would not place that much weight on fucking alt right youtubers as being a bellwether for electoral success.

The alt right is actually a very solid voting block, as evidenced by groyperism. The British alt right especially, is a lot more coordinated on the ground than Americans, who are scattered to the winds or infight (as evidenced by the recent nick fuentes debacle). I refuse to believe that Rupert Lowe was successful due to on the ground populism, with the recent developments in great yarmouth, he was boosted a lot by people in British alt right circles, the people targetted by hope not hate. Zoomerhistorian alone posted at least 10 times a day about Lowe, morgoth sargun and millennialwoes were regularly poosting as well.

I read that restore only went with like 7 candidates in a place because the party is not formed yet or something, apparently the majority of those candidates (7 lol) won.

That will not happen, Lowe has a personal vendetta against farage for kicking him from the party. And a lot of the British supporting restore are doing so under the promise of an ethnostate, that's the number one policy position of restore, millions must be deported. Well, Rupert Lowe is a member of parliament. And the idea is that these local council elections are a measure of how people will vote in the general, but that's debatable. End of the day, Restore aren't going anywhere because they don't have any candidates and because the whole game is a strategic one of how you win strongheld constituencies in a FPTP system, rather than just splitting votes.

He has it in his head that human society was like "leave it to beaver" where the men worked and the women looked after the kids and otherwise just stayed at home and...looked after the kids. Implying no labor beyond cleaning the house and cooking dinner.

This is wildly wrong though. The idyllic stay at home wife with infinite free time to watch kids is the upper middle class dream post world war 2. Its not reality and never was. In ye olden times women had to work their assess off much like the men did. Maintaining the garden for luxury crops, making many of the finished goods like clothing, long term food preservation such as cheese making, and on and on. The kids as soon as they were old enough to use tools were either helping mom work or helping dad work.

Women "working" is not the smoking gun for demographic collapse either.

I actually have great-grandparents (or possibly x2 great) who both worked in the New England cotton mills before coming back to the UK to raise their kids. Women in factories was the norm but they were shut out of the better paying skilled trades and professions.

The idyllic "women don't have to work" ideal exists in a very narrow perception of time. 1945 to 1965. And only in the United States and Canada. As every other industrial society got blown to pieces. The single father going to work at the mill while the wife stayed at home and cooked existed as an artifact of its time. Not as an artifact of natural gender roles. In actuality, women have to work as much as men and "two person" households have always been the norm. The idea of a "single provider" householder is the abnormal scenario.

More broadly, the idea that women don't have to work is structurally unsound from a relationship standpoint. It will lead to resentment in the coupling. Women absolutely do need to work. Not just for their own mental well being, as having an obvious value inputted into the household, but also so there is an understanding by the Man that the marriage is a partnership and not an acquisition. Pre industrial societies had this easier. The woman's role "in the home" wasn't sedentary. It was dawn to dusk labor. Cooking, curing, making, rearing, everything from the next generation, to the clothes everyone wore, to what they got to eat, to what would allow them to survive the winter, and most importantly, crafted products and excess that could sold for cash money. The husband didn't do that last part. He was too busy working his ass off in the fields chopping wood, cutting wheat or fighting wolves off the sheep. Momma had to make the clothes and the cheese and the jerky and the stuff that got sent to market.

This is my immense disappointment with Carl. He has clearly "studied" how civilization worked pre industrially. But he still has that Gen X mentality of how society needs to be properly organized that is fundamentally a product of how fucking bizarre the Boomer and Gen X generations were on how gender roles were defined as well as the division of labor in a family unit.

Incidentally, I recently came across a documentary about the "Svan" of the south Caucuses in Georgia. They are described as the last "tribal" white people in the world. Its a fascinating watch.
