The only argument he makes about why Jews are hated is "the stereotype of being greedy". Does he even understand antisemitism himself? He never mentions the "blood libels" (and relation to male genital mutilation), or the extreme ethnic nepotism pushing diversity for every race except Jews (modern version of this is Frankfurt School pseudo-Marxism). Maybe he doesn't want to add fuel to the flames? I've seen a few Jews do this.

I'm especially disappointed in this one. No "wooden doors", no "head lice", no "swimming pools", no "ballpoint pen". The whole crux of his argument is that it doesn't matter how many Jews died because it's still an atrocity. The one thing he said that stuck out to me was something along the lines of "if even one shtetl got wiped out it would be a crime against humanity and justification to overthrow the government". Like nigga, it's a world war, a couple hundred casualties would be nothing. I'm not too much of a WWII nerd but it barely takes any effort to think up examples of cities leveled to the ground that Card thinks would be justified to destroy over his shitty stetl (Dresden, Hiroshima, Nagasaki).

The octopus has been used in political cartoons as old as political cartoons that existed to refer to imperialism, capitalism. Overreach by the federal government. It's just a good metaphor for overreach. Or some one who has their hands in many pies.
