Why not just use an electric valve? Those work great on the ones I designed.
Electric cut outs are basically that, and still rubbish.

The old school screw on/offs always wound up leaking and the new high end ones do too.

You'd think there's a market and it's nothing fancy but the aftermarket doesn't seem to have got it down yet.

If you did design some take em to market!

They don't leak, they don't rattle (rattling is the biggest problem) unless you have a shit manufacturer / design. OEMs fucking come with them from the factory man. Maybe after-market cutouts geared towards rednecks are shit? I haven't looked at them.

They're stupid simple. All it is is a buttery-fly valve. That's it. Tried and true. You have an electric motor to open / close, and a spring to keep it closed iirc. You can get pneumatic valves; I've no experience with them but after-market exhausts come with those if the factory didn't have it.

Buy a factory exhaust and cut them off. I know some German cars come with them.

So I traded in my fast little hatchback for a new Colorado ZR2 and the driving experience could not be more different. Gone are the low seating position, firm ride, and steering feel from the hatch - replaced with an interior you have to climb up into, pillowy-soft damping and steering so numb and overboosted that it might as well be a video game controller.

Also, holy hell - "midsize" trucks are pretty fucking huge now.

AC didn't get decent until the mid 90's. Another win for newer cars.
I own one of these

and one of these

And if you don't like those, I'm sorry but your taste sucks.
I've got two Squarebody trucks and an AMC Javelin and I'm pretty happy with them.

But I totally dig the third gen Camaro 👍

I have the Canyon. On one of my first trips to the store I parked next to a Chevrolet pickup. it was nearly the same so I assumed it was the Colorado. It was the full size Silverado, there was barely any obvious difference in size.

On the other hand, I got the Diesel and 25-30MPG.

Yeah - seeing it parked next to a Silverado at the dealer gave me the same impression.

On the bright side, I could probably drive the new truck over a car if I needed to.

Does anyone have experience in CAN BUS, CAN injection? I've been screwing with cars ECU and peripheral modules for decades now. Diagnostic, repair and mostly security related service. Until recently I really didn't realize how easy it was for an amateur to sniff for CAN BUS data, specifically how easy it was to identify processes and repeat them. Anyone screw with this? I guess I never looked into it but, I figured the IP was so tight that is why diagnostic companies were justified in demanding 10K for something that only worked on about %80 of the security related software of North American Consumer level vehicles.

How is a Hellcat outpacing a Lambo?
Power is a hell of a drug. Assuming the lambo is a hurracan, it doesn't have much horsepower, 602. That's uh...that's not a lot. Pretty slow 0-60 of 3.4. My family sedan can do that.

Top speed doesn't care about weight; it just takes longer to get there.

Unfortunately I do not; and due to op-sec can't link you to the tuners I know. If you're asking with regards to tuning; the issue will be cracking them. A lot of the time you get an unlocked version from an insider at the OEM.

Power isn't everything. My Aston is slow as shit compared to these sub 4 sec things, but there reaches a point where the rumble and roar of a V12 on full chat chumps 0-60 times. The Lambo may be slower, but it sure as hell is going to be more of an experience to drive

Oh I agree. But if we're talking about speed, POWA BABAAAY.
I agree on the lambo, but even then, the audi version would be better. I need to find an awd manual car that is fun...maybe I should just trade my s4 for a manual s4.

Yeah it's definitely a thing for market. Now I would NEVER suggest bypassed fed law but of cut outs are screw valve y pipe to a cat.

Or after said cat. And just a very simple y to open. The issue most trash even nicer ones.

Active exhaust not only does skip muffler you often have mixed settings like half half. For growl. Anf guess what? Better than aftermarket.

My Jag had active exhaust, and when we had her tuned I had opened it before turn over. (Thankfully being a newer car lot to work with like move seats set radio etc before turning on remote start) so I felt like a champ. Id click 2 seconds later RWAR.

Man nothing was as cool as going out and clicking my car on setting a dozen alarms off lol

Difficult. It is for sure a crack pipe price.

But on the other hand the buyer's an obsessive for these and knows what he's paying. There likely is not another one in better condition (probably even same) out there. Is it worth it to have the best survivor out there? You're not going to use the damn thing, having it is the whole point. Not my cup of tea, having a garage queen (or close to it), but half the collector market wouldn't exist if everyone thought like me.
